Jeez mate - didn't realise that you'd seen the illicit test rides.... It a gets a bit tiring - 'what'll it do mister?'; 'is it a Scoobaru?'; 'is it faster than my mate's dad's BMW?'; 'What does this button do?' (Answer - NOTHING!!).

Anyway, last night Kath promised them that I'd let 'em have a ride. Went up round the windmills and back - 15 mins. Think I might have scared 'em a bit, but can't be seen to be too irresponsible with other people's sprogs. :)

Didn't notice that the felt was missing off the hut roof. That's Kath's department!

Maybe we ought to have a mini-convoy round the estate for the kids. Give 'em something to talk about ;)

CU at the next meet (if not before!).

Hi,

There has been a bit of banter on this thread in the was it you forum and it has lead to a suggestion of a (mini) meet.

Suggestions so far are a pub in the Huddersfield/Denby Dale area (e.g The Fenay Bridge on the Huddersfield Sheffield road or The Holmfield arms on Denby Dale road. Anyone any preferences or other suggestions?

Suggested time and date 8pm on Wednesday 23rd July (2 weeks from now).

It looks like there will be a few of us there at least and hopefully more. Please reply to this tread with any suggestions or if you intend to come. I am sure as with all meets we don't bite and I am sure we could even allow the odd sport to come along too.

Hope to see you there

Kev

scoobynson 09 July 2003 09:25 PM

aint that where all the speed cameras are?

J4CK50N 09 July 2003 11:23 PM

Either or for me, as broad as it is long. The only thing I will say though is that the Holmfield Arms Car Park has more to it as it is bigger and is away from the main pub so in my opinion wont look as dodgy!!

Will go with the majority though!

Looking forward to seeing the other scoobs!

Keep me posted!!!!

Cheers

Martyn

Harry_Boy 10 July 2003 12:44 AM

Count me in guys - either will do, although the Fenay Bridge is closer :)

About time we got something sorted ;)

Cheers, HB.

Kev_turbo 10 July 2003 01:20 AM

Again either or for me, the only reason I suggested the Fenay Bridge is I know most of the staff anf the car park is covered by CCTV.

The next person to post who is intending to come along can make the location decision.

See you all there.

Kev

KINGY71 10 July 2003 04:11 PM

Fenay Bridge too close my turbo will still be cold if i go they.....but i don't know where the one in Denby Dale is so you will have to let me know.....both either will be ok...

J4CK50N 10 July 2003 06:07 PM

Cheers to Dave Wallis for the invite to another regualr meet. Like buses isn't it! Wait for one and then two come along together!!

By the way i'm really not bothered where we go, just want to see all the other scoobs!!

KINGY71 - Holmfield arms is just on the outskirts of Wakefield Twon Centre. If you go thru Denby Dale, Scissett etc and then keep going straight (not literally!) over the roundabouts when you get to the fifth roundabout the Holmfield Arms is the 1st exit on this one.

Hope this helps!!

Harry_Boy 10 July 2003 06:13 PM

OK Guys - either is fine for me. You choose..... :)

Alan C 10 July 2003 07:10 PM

Decisive lot aren't we.... ;)

OK.. So far we have;

Holmfield Arms.... Al + Martyn (J4CK5ON)

Fenay Bridge..... Kev + Kingy71 + Harry

Anyone else? Pick one.. and let democracy be the winner!!

I am in a good mood aren't I? https://www.gamers-forums.com/smilie...ckeye/hihi.gif

Scooby Vale 10 July 2003 07:31 PM

Def up for this meet.

Think I'd prefer Holmfield Arms but can go with majority

Kev_turbo 10 July 2003 07:32 PM

Right then seen as no one else is making any decisions then I will.

The Fenay Bridge Pub on Wednesday 23rd July at 8pm. Big car park, presentable beer and pretty good food.

Let see who turns up then and if a more suitable meeting place is required the decision can be made on the night.

If anyone needs direction from Wakefield go to the M1 roundabout and head straight across following signs for Huddersfield. At the roundabout go straight on (speed cameras on some bits) for a few miles until you come to the cross roads at the Sovreign (sp?) Pub. Turn right and keep going, the pub is a few miles down on the left. If you get as far as Morrisons you have gone too far.

If anyone needs and other directions let me know though I am away for the weekend (Goodwood festival of speed) and I will reply on my return.

Hope to see a full car park

Kev

force_fed 10 July 2003 09:01 PM

feney bridge sounds good.....c u all there!!

Kev_turbo 10 July 2003 09:41 PM

MadGrip,

Directions.

Straight down Leeds/Huddersfield road into the Huddersfield town centre. At the end of leeds road there are some light, at which you turn right and about 200m down the road there is another ser of lights with a big sainsburys on your left. Stay in the left lane here (this is a roundabout that you are going straight on at effectively) heading for Sheffield (cameras x 3). Keep going for 2 miles and you will ocme to a fork in the road (3 lanes at lights). Take the right hand fork again towards sheffield and the pub is 1 mile doen on your left set just back from the main road. You will initially pass a petrol station on your left then a pub (The Star) on your right then it is only about another 50m to the Fenay Bridge.

I will look up a multimap thing for the location.

Kev

Kev_turbo 10 July 2003 09:46 PM

Clich here for a close up map. You can zoom out from that to see where abouts it is.

Madgrip, other idea would be head south on the M1 and take the Wakefield turnoff (Jn39???) turn right and follow the directions posted earlier.

Kev

Kev_turbo 10 July 2003 09:54 PM

Just found the postcode of the place so it an be looked up on multimap easier

HD8 0AS

J4CK50N 10 July 2003 10:24 PM

Until then!

Harry_Boy 10 July 2003 11:27 PM

See you all there guys - 23rd at 8.00pm. Two miles for me....

Alan C 10 July 2003 11:48 PM
