Hey CC,

I'd get that old Bavarian banger you call a motor looked at if I were you. Last week you got wasted by grandad's Audi, now one of the hairdresser's favourites an S2000. If it carries on like this we'll all be reading a thread entitled:-

"Had a run in with Ernie's milk float last night" - **** me they're quick blah blah blah

Even me with my dislike for M3's can't believe that they can be that bad ;-)

Regards,

tiggers.

I think the Vanos maybe dodgy, I am getting it checked out. Still the hairdresser might have left the comb and scissors behind givign it a weight advantage

What colour was the S2000 in question ? This may be one of the S2ki members.

DuggE4,

Firstly it was meant to be a little bit humourous hence the wink etc.

Secondly I only usually diss BMW's particularly M3's ;-)

Thirdly Yes I do say quite a lot constructive both in real life and in the imaginery world that is Scoobynet.

Now please try and take the post in the manner in which it was intended.

Regards,

tiggers.

Thumbs up

Modding an M3?

Bexley unichip +15bhp (£400)
Gruppe M carbon air intake +15bhp (£600)
Supersprint exhaust +7bhp (800??)

After that modifying an M3 becomes very expensive if you desire N/A. If not go down the supercharger (500bhp wow) or NOS routes....

How many miles has you M3 done? You may find a new set of spark plugs brings it back to life... S2000 are a match to 60 but fall back easily after that!

CarpetCleaner,

Torque Developments (TDI PLC) used to make a turbo conversion for the M3 engine (like your evo type engine), dont know if they still do, but if youve got £5K (iirc) then 550BHP should do the trick eh

There was an article on Autospeed.com about tweaking the exhausts on an S2000, gained them 25%-plus at the top end and a lot of extra midrange IIRC.

Edited to add this link

Apparently the stock system is restrictive.

Aerodynamics will play a big part at speed -- surely the S2000 makes a smaller hole in the air than the Beemer?

Hairymuff

Interesting -- so exhaust mods are not the first option for UK S2000s? Beats talking about work, doesn't it

I still think 5 car lengths is a big difference! I could only pull a few on a clio cup and I have a 275bhp classic! A standard S2000 should not be able to pull 5 car lenghts on an M3 EVO - no way! In fact, I once played with an S2000 in the VTS and he only pulled 5 car lengths on me......so....the S was modified or the M3 was fecked!
