Elvington airfield 13th july
Nice to see Andy and John F head to head on the handling circuit!
Andy for his incredible speed off the line - JOhn for his deceptive pace in the twisty bits, both in a different league to everyone else - in the lower to mid-38s. No-one else was below 40s - particularly as John would be giving away at least 120bhp in his standard Sti!
Fabulous old Escort, wheelspin everywhere and donuts inside the track as his engine was on its' last legs!
Roll on TOTB2 when the serious cars will be turning up....
....the writing is on the wall as there was a Skyline that was posting decent times with a Turbo the size of France. However he was only running it in and limiting it to 0.2bar!!!!!!!!

unnoficial best lap time was the white wrx of andy as he got under 38s, next was skyline at 38.3s
fastest 1/4m was 11.4s i think, top speed tbc was over 190mph.
all results will be posted later in week , or a link to them
thanks to all who came, wot a scorcher.
delay today was due to a bike rider who came off at 100+mph and ended up in hospital, think its a broken wrist *(and bike)

The radios stopped working on the flyers, so the guy sat next to the equipment was full on trying to get numbers as things went past. After adjusting my technique, I managed 178mph, but like you say above, that's a TBC. It was written on the sheet though
Full marks to the guy who pulled up while I was collecting the tickets and said, "where do I go?" "how do I get back to the start" He stopped on the main run, and parked across the timing lights while he did this. A Blue STi8 flew by while all this was going on. Personally I'd of shat me'self if I'd see a car parked up on the run.
I sometimes wonder how people like that manage to live from day to day, as they quite clearly don't have an ounce of common sense
Other than that, quality day. Nice weather. Nice people.
Oh, and another thing, why when you have almost any sky at all to play in, do you[1] insist on flying your model aeroplanes over what is essentially a carpark, not to mention the large amount of people walking about? When those things hit the ground, they don't half make a mess, and that includes anything they hit; including people
[1] This means the 20-30 old timers sat in another area on the airfield, not anybody on this board.[2]
[2] Although if you are on this board, and you did fly your aeroplane over the car's and people, WHY?

yep, i was the first car to go under 38 seconds with a 37.99

Me heading the time sheets lasted 5 minutes then Andy got the red mist and did a 37.91 Bugger
Was it hot! peak boost was 1.00BAR, i normally get 1.27BAR Peak on a cold day.
