What would you spend 24K on...
Soarer TT
£10k spent and you have 190mph... sub 5s'... 12+ sec quarters... Class... Quality... the works...
£12, grand for a nice 300ZX (Fairlady) soft-top for the sunny days at the beach... rare and quite cute...
£2k to insure the pair... I dare you to find a rarer, smoother, smarter combo for the money... nothing comes close...

Enough said
Sorry to detract from this discussion, but I'm pretty p1553d off after yet again being a victim of crime.
Use the £24k to emigrate out of this stinking hellhole called England.
I'm sacking the idea of buying my 1st Scoob, it's not worth the attention it attracts in this place, and researching my flit to NZ.

How on earth did you get that rate??? hearing so many good things about Tesco on this forum, I gave them a call and they quoted nearly £1,800 for an 03 WRX PPP wagon. I am 32 with 3yrs no claims, park on the street in zone 1.

If you are after a new car i would suggest a WRX with the PPP kit, I currently have the old shape STi typeuk and its a very hard ride (apprantly the new ones even harder?) I drove a normal WRX a few days ago and was amazed at how smouth and comfortable the ride was yet it seamed to still have alot of grip and composure on the road. I think this would match your list quite well.
If you can i would recomend getting a test drive in a R32 golf thou as they are very special. Personally i would still pick subaru bullet proof reliability over a german car.
Oh and alot of ppl mention the 22b, i almost bought one when they where new but the prospect of having to have new fillings every 3 months put me of.

porsche boxter - less depreciation but even cheaper solution if you are into this car is just to take a course in hairdressing and get loser tatooed on your forehead
I am looking at spending a similar amount at xmas to replace my scoob, so the research has started. I am currently looking at a R33 GTR V-Spec Skyline, you'll get a minter for 24k. I have also been looking at the E55 AMG.
But I must admit I am hoping for a 348 but struggling to get decent ones for less than 30k

The Mercs a great crusier but the brakes last about 5 mins of very hard driving, it weighs something like 54000 tonnes. One was trying to follow my estate car on Brands indy circuit and only got part way on to its 3rd lap before the track vanished in smoke from the pads.
Stupid question, I'm sure, but...
What is the PPP kit? I'm in the U.S., and I didn't come across that term when I bought my '04 WRX. Just wondering what it was, and if it's called something else on this side of the pond.
Cheers,

From: North Yorks, MY03 PPP, now run a Mondeo ST TDCI 06
Go for a WRX with PPP and brake upgrade, great car with 3 years warranty.
For the money I don't think you can do much better, I went this route and have no regrets at all. It even gives me 31MPG on the motorway, far better than the old model which never returned over 26.
I traded in my classic turbo just before the warranty finished, although to be fair I only had a couple of faults in 30 months of owning it.
Insurance is £620 with Direct Line, I'm 38 and the car is garaged.

Motorpoint appear to be selling STi8's for 22k, add your PPP and you will have a brand spanking, full warrantied STi8
still less than 24k
still less than 24k
Thanks for the feedback folks, almost 99% now I'll go for a 2003 WRX+PPP+Brake upgrade for starters. Maybe think about the suspension and 18" wheels later unless I can get a bloody good discount, or find a s/h 03 somewhere.
Now all I've got to do is get the money together, which is proving somewhat more problematic than I thought.
