LOL

Just been reading the advice on the PS2 site. From what I can gather, I should just be able to buy another ADSL modem, and use that as a standalone unit on the downstairs filter.

Excerpt:
Myth: I can connect my ADSL line to my PlayStation 2

Not directly. An ADSL line needs to be connected to a compatible modem, and the Network Adaptor (Ethernet) is not a modem - just a network connection. Your ADSL line will be able to connect to an ADSL modem though, and that's what will connect to your PlayStation 2 Network Adaptor.

What I also want to know is, why does the adaptor have HDD written on it, when it isnt a hard drive?

I was on the PS2 Online Beta trial

Then some lowlife toerag climbed in my open front window when I was in the back garden, and back out with my PS2, Network Adapter, a game, two controllers and my memory card with all my game saves on it

Sorry, just to make my feelings clear about the person who now has it

Don't answer now, I've just bought a PS2 from play for 149.99, network adapter 24.99, extra controller 17.99, memory card 15, total 208 quid so if anyone knows of a cheaper option, I don't want to know

Pretty good deal, I thought, as I had one of the original circa £300 PS2s, plus all the extra bits...

back to the top with a question, hoping that someone will help me out:

my pc and PS2 are right next to each other and they'll never both get used at the same time, can i just get:
1. bt broadband
2. an broadband modem
3. PS2 network adaptor
4. an ethernet cable which i can physically switch between the PC and PS2 depending on which one i want to use

i don't want to have to buy a router if i dont need it.

andy.

**************, cheers mate.

i've got a little 4 port hub here somewhere.

now i know i don't need a router, i'll get the bt Broadband plumbed in and look for an ethernet modem (any suggestions?) and a couple of ADSL filters.

SOCOM online coming to my house soon!

Andy.
