Innit! I have to use the waterloo-London bridge line every day and there is a distinction between tags and pieces. If you look around you'll see the pieces done by a bloke callen "Known" a true artist. He's done a huge piece on the side of a building with "KNOWN" and a little alien smoking a *** . another one is far away from where I go but you can see it if you know where to look. it totally dominates a triangular roof section with "KNOWN" in Black letters and "let it be..." in little white letters in the middle. Like I said, tagging is sad, quality pieces are cool.

Good point about the legal side of things; in Switzerland, you get fined for throwing stuff on the street. In Singapore, chewing gum is not even for sale. No chance of seeing all these black stains on sidewalks etc....

 

Luckily this part of the UK is fairly clear of litter under normal circumstances. However,during the season when the "visitors" arrive that is when the trouble starts. Not only do they bring their filthy habits with them but also a particularly unpleasant and rude overbearing attitude. Its often a pleasure to welcome winter again!

Not true, well not completely. I went to Doncaster with wifey the other day, and while waiting for her to finish looking at a market stall, watched at least 4 OAP's dropping litter, ranging from *** packets to chip wrappers.
I then watched my 13 year old walk 35 yards to a litter bin, without being told, and he didn't know I was there, he was with mates!

Claudius mate, she was dumping things like yesterday's newspaper, food wrappers, cans etc. I think she was a rep at a guess and couldnt be bothered finding a bin, so lobbed it out the window to keep her car clean.

What is the fine for litter dropping & spitting? Seems that no-one is enforcing any laws re littering.

Broken glass gets my vote as the most hazardous type of litter.... I can't count the times I've had to tip toe my dog through this mindless mess.
And YES before anyone jumps in with the obvious.... I always carry my pooper scooper with me and YES I do use it.
I have also picked up litter dropped casually out of car windows, and handed it back with an innocent sounding " You seem to have dropped this". Usually I get a dropped jaw and dead silence. try it sometime !

What about fly tipping?

The ultimate in littering, yet somehow very amusing and rewarding to indulge in - i ve done it myself quite a lot over the last few years: reasons: council dont collect our rubbish on time a lot of weeks,and there's no council tip for miles and miles.

It always gives me a laugh to drive off and see the results of a good fly-tip in the rear view mirror.

 

I'm not surprised people fly tip.

I borrowed a mate's rascal van to take a few bits to the tip only to be told by the tramp(or whatever he was) that it'd cost me £35 cos I was in a van.

I had about half a standard car's bootful.

I disposed of it by 'other' means

You are allowed to have a van a a private form of transport. If you are registered in the local borough and it is your own private waste........then they should let you use it.

Remember its you money that is paying for it ...........

 

Have to agree with the oysters thing. Totally disgusting.
Was walking through local town last weekend just behind 3 young guys - 14-16 years old at a guess. One of them hocks a huge loogy on the floor to his right, about a foot in front of me (just walking past as they were sauntering along). I just happen to be carrying my 8 month old son in a forward facing sling at the time and I can tell you (as I told him in no uncertain terms!) that 'I was not impressed.'

The look on his face was of total lack of understanding as I turned to walk away (worrying I would be punched in the back of the head )

I hired a van while doing some work at home. Guy at the tip stopped me but was OK with what I was doing.

I also go often with an 8'X6' trailer on the back of my wifes car, never had a problem with that either

It's ok, wasn't shafted. I dumped it outside the compound after carefully checking the area for cctv.

I think the guy was trying a scam. I'm gonna check with the local council and report the **** if he was taking the ****.

It was the tip in Battersea BTW

 

If you get trouble at the tip,maybe dumping it on the Council building steps might bring a result!
