Dyney, have emailed you a link to last years booking details. Boat was £45 for any crossing time and family room was £85 (not the £120+ they're trying to sting us for this year)

Hotel details were on that thread and there was none of this years paranoia about not posting where/what etc it is.

Question

Any news on anything yet? Ferry thing, hotel number for booking, anything?

If we all got mailed the hotel & number then at least we could sort that & I haven't yet done the ferry thing in the hope that that gets sorted. Admittedly it is 10 weeks away but the sooner it's sorted the better.

If anyone needs help organising stuff give me a shout

The ferry's in hand. Wightlink have replied to my letter - more details a little later this week. I'm working on Red Funnel slowly to be more reasonable.

Dyney - could you email me the email list, as Wightlink don't want the prices on public display Thanks

Can I just say that I've noticed a few people on here who are becoming very impatient

It is over 2 months away you know. The hotel is already booked, we are just negotiating prices.
It would be nice to be able to look forward to it rather than worrying about details which will be sorted in due course.

Matt, I wasn't referring to you directly.
As I said B4 I just don't see why people are so impatient. I'd understand if the trip was next month but It's 2 months away yet!!!!!
As you would say Matt,
CHILL OUT PEEPS, IT'S GONNA BE PEACHY!

Thanks for the warm welcome (she say's sarcastically!!!)

I don't think Iain will be best pleased if he thinks I'm keeping an eye on him.
He's normally in all the technical forums anyway and can you imagine me in there

Right you 'orrible lot.
I have sorted the Hotel prices (for B&B).

I've got the price down to £30 pppn.
I have got the family rooms down to £85 pn (£30 per adult, £10 for under 5's and £15 for the under 10's) (that doesn't include Dom!!!)
Kim the cot is £5 and they can sort the milk at reception. No fridge in the room, but as I said they recomend a Thermos flask.

If you want to stay in the Hotel for dinner the charge will be £10.
I went for the B&B option as I expect we will want to eat out at one of the many exellent resaurants on Saturday night and will all have starved by the time we get there on Friday (best eat before going or on the boat!!)

I will E mail everyone the details soon including the phone no. and booking ref.

I have had a request from one of the Seat club guys asking if we want to have a meet on the Island. I think we should hold this on the Sat afternoon so Jen/Chris and Rach can also attend if they make it to the Island for the day

Last chance to drop out!! I'am getting fed up of phoning the hotel and telling them the room requirement has changed.
I have some of you moaning that you want to book it and others dropping out (good reasons I know). It is getting complicated keeping track of whos coming and what you all need.

I have also been working 18 hour days to try and get the Scoob back on the road as well as keep my actual JOB! all the time snatching a look at this bbs (I'm ment to be a "mod" you know)

dnb YHM ref Ferry booking.

Iain,

Jen and Chris are on hols at the moment but I know that we are definately planning to come over for the Saturday. As soon as they are back we'll start looking at/booking ferry tickets. I'm just sorry that Mark and I can't stay over but I've got no-one to look after the puppies plus the fact Mark has started working back on the night shift at work...the muppet

Looking forward to seeing you, Ang and the crew again !!

OK - The ferry will be the Red Funnel leaving on Friday at 19:30 and back to the mainland on Sunday at 17:30. The crossing time is 55 minutes, I'm told the ferry food is OK, and 2 out of the three have bars If you want to negotiate your own times & rates, then feel free.

The "Saturday only" people should still be able to use the group rate, as long as they travel over early on Saturday morning and leave after 4-45 (IIRC this means the 5:30 ferry)

Remember to quote the offer code to get the £1 discount
(BTW - it's cheaper than Wightlink offered)

Sorry I wasn't in the best mood last night!!

Still going to be a great weekend, esspecially seeing as Gary(Starship Impreza) has said he's up for it now.
Most of you will know Gary organised this hotel last year but had to back out after Brenda fell ill
Well now he can see what a great hotel he found for us

Well done with the ferry Dave.

Mail will be sent to all shortly (when I get time)
