Just had a word with Red Funnel. They are prepared to play ball with us again this year. The price should be similar to last year.

(I hope you all behaved yourselves on the ferry last year!!!)

Here's the relevent timetable sections:

Friday: (Southampton to E. Cowes)
16:45
17:35
18:30
19:35
20:40

Sunday: (Back again...)
14:25
15:25
16:15
17:05
18:05

Crossing time is 1 hour. It's sensible to arrive about 1/2 hour before sailing time.

I would guess that the 19:35 on the Friday and the 15:25 on Sunday would be a good guess at sensible times.

Before going too far with this, I'll talk to Wightlink, as their crossing time is a bit quicker...

So is anyone up for a trip to the IOW?
Would be around September. Go over Friday night stay in a hotel and see the sites for the weekend and come back Sunday evening

We have done this the last 2 years and is always a really good laugh

I know I said last year I wasn't going to organise the next one, but we all had so much fun I have relented. Everyone keeps asking me when we're doing it again!!

Come on, who's interested in terrorising the island for a weekend?

(And sorry for being one of the people to badger you into doing the organising again...)

Once we get a better idea of numbers, I'll go and find someone in Red Funnel to hit with a big stick for a nice bit of discount...

Oh, and I'll try to nag Mr. Weava to organise some kind of driving event if there's interest. Maybe a treasure hunt/navigation exercise thing. We'll probably have to blindfold the islanders amongst us though...
