Markus - did I tell you about fitting my oil temperature gauge?
I didn't get the sender tight enough, and it leaked - I lost about 2 litres of oil in one night!
I won't be doing that one again!!
Everyone please remember that the island is an optimax free zone - there is one garage selling super. That's it.

there are several Optimax garages around Southampton, so I suggest you try and fill up before you get to the dock...

Jen - how you doing! Well, the appt does have a den, so could fit a few bodies in there, plus I have a sofa bed too, and bigish balcony, and it is, at the moment, warm enough to sleep out there. Or if you are really daring, bring a tent and pitch in in Humber bay park, which is only a 5 min walk from my appt
Oh, and I am NOT paying for any flights :P
On a serious note, if any of you are in my neck of the woods, or planning to be, drop me an email and we'll hook up. I'm no expert on the big TO yet, but I have the resources of the TO scooby club to fall back on. You thought the muppets were a mad lot, you aint met these people!

From memory, a family room is about £85 and the ferry is about £45.
Date is 26/27/28 of September.

Wightlink go from Portsmouth. I tried to get sensible prices from them, but they weren't particularly interested (they didn't answer mail or confirm prices)
Red Funnel were a bit more helpful, however since I booked the group rates, they have changed their time table and fares. Like Dyney, there are some loose ends to tie up. (We may end up going from Portsmouth if Red Funnel don't start to behave! - I hate indifferent companies... The trouble is the IOW doesn't really have a choice
)
MAFFA - One of us can send you the address if you like...
There's still plenty of time, so don't panic
The island usually has quite a low crime rate, but there's no problem with taking precautions....
