yes - the original oil pressure thing is indeed 1/8 BSP. I believe it's tapered as well.

 

The SPA Oil Pressure sender I have looks straight, but the Oil Temp looks tapered.

Yep, just checked my SPA manual and the Temp sender is tapered. Not sure if this is relevant to the Autometer senders.

temp is working ok, didnt let it warm up enough,
seems to hang around the 170F mark

as for pressure, when on idle it seems to be around 50-75, whereas on full it goes up to 100psi...
mmm...

got my oil pressure bits from think automotive and my convertor for the temp from le mans.

the 8mm bolt came undone pretty easily, hardest bit was putting the sender in...no where to get your hands down!
