LOL..im sure someone else will elaborate...

Not too many people ran as far as I know, due to T7's very inadequates setup for any car that will actually have some power to be run safely on his rollers.

4 cars, 4 fcukups. the guy had a piddly wee 30 mph fan in front of the car, absolutely no use for TMIC. All cars falling of badly at higher revs due to temp increase. the guy told me i was misfiring badly at about 4800, with a major drop off in power. i know different. with enough air going thru the TMIC my car pulls like an express train (IMHO anyway).

All in all, NOT good m8, i for one will not be back. I felt gutted for the ppls who had to drive >2.5 hours to get there only to have it called of after 4 cars.

Good to see some face again.

cheers

I don't believe the ISDC will be back either, at the time of setting this up 777 had the monopoly on 4WD RR but I believe there is at least one other up and running in the south with another RR that runs off the Hubs suitable for 4wd also, we are already making enquiries about another event.

the hub dyno seesm to be the way forward, easier on the car too alledgedly?!?! I know MRT in OZ have just installed one..

the car is jacked up and each wheel is replaced by a hub so there is very little rolling resistance unlike the very harsh double contact patch of existing roller types...

looks to be pretty good

Cheers

Hub dynos are a good job. I also hear of a 4x4 RR opening in Doagh/Ballyclare direction of all places.

It will be interesting to see what sort of setup Kris produces. Still looks to be some buliding work being done at the minute tho, as I was past it today.
The Hub dyno seems to be an excellent job, and NO wheelspin. Abbey motorsport ( Skylines ) have one, as does TTI in Dublin.

While TTI promised to get in touch with a friend about taking a few cars down, they didnt bother contacting uys, depsite several attepmts on our part to get in touch with him. He always said he would phone back, but he never bothered.
If you happen to read this Bernard ( TTI ), that is very crap service. You have lost several potential customers.

Sometime in the future, may even consider a Hub RR myself, if I thought there really was the demand in this country. Very few people will actually spend money tuning cars here, and RR days will only go so far. They seem to think that £200 should get them 600bhp. It just doesnt work like that. Its all tacky body kits, slow cars, with big stereos.
Having a RR is useless unless the operator can provide some other service, apart from blowing cars up, in order to get to fix them ( mention no names777 )
RR days are fun, but only really pub talk at the end of the day.
Some proper racing is whats needed. There was talk of a proper rece circuit hoping to get the go-ahead in Kilroot. Full international spec. There was a petition for it at a car show some time ago...Now that would be good.

A good 1/4mile or race track would be good too

Adding wieght to the car is common practise to try and get grip on the rollers. It usually means getting people to sit on the car.
At Well Lane a few months ago, I had about 6 people helping with mine :S couldnt fit any more on.
I suppose if his fans are crap, then at least he did spray some water onto the intercoolers to help keep temps down a bit. Its a lot better than doing nothing at all.

A Rolling Road is hard on your car. No one has ever disputed this so please ignore any rubbish stories about Triple 7 blowing your car up. These are all cars running big boost and up to all sorts of tricks, like actuator jamming, to get a few extra bhp. No rolling road is ever going to be 100 percent accurate either. Big powered cars just burn tyres and/or skip out of the rollers.

As far as the last Rolling Road Day went we had 20 odd cars tested in that day and only 1 complaint (from BEW) I agree with him that his boost curve was wrong and very erratic. But assuming the operator doesnt know what he is doing, I find it strange that every other Subaru tested didnt get the same problem. ( Apologies again Brian )

The fan IMHO was spot on. There was even a seperate extension built around the back to keep it in. Fair enough, with the Subaru its not getting to the intercooler but Im sure if you ask Sid he will close the bonnet or do whatever you want. Instead of slagging and putting the place down try and work with him and tell him if you have any doubts or problems and Im sure he will do his best to help. No matter how good the fan is it will never recreate the cooling effect of the open road. A lot of people attending our event were worried about the cooling to their cars so I took a picture of the fan let them see............

I put my Evo on the rollers too and was more than happy with the cooling and the way the car was treated. Looking through all the graphs and figures all the cars power and torque results seem to be spot on. http://www.jon44w.com/site/viewthread.php?tid=189

I hope the SIDC have a very enjoyable day as we certainly did. Maybe when they come back and let us know how their event went then possibly its justifiable to point the finger and make accusations.

Thanks for your time,
John S

PS Yes I know my sites partly sponsored by Triple 7 but it doesnt bias my humble opinion.

What's the relevance of how many cars where there?
I've not stated anything which didn't happen.

But assuming the operator doesnt know what he is doing, I find it strange that every other Subaru tested didnt get the same problem.
There were only 3 Subarus tested on the day. One was told his back diff was on the way out,one was perfectly happy with his run and me!
I wonder what work they would have undertaken if I'd been gullible enough to go back. Does anyone know if it's standard practice there to sign a form clearing them of any responsibility if their work goes wrong or is that only for the RR?
I can't comment on cars getting blown up either way as I've no experience of that. Perhaps John can enlighten us as he has stated that this is all rubbish.

ps fivepint you may want to think twice before asking me to elaborate on anything again!
