Elises again, folks!

I must say I am fancying one, going off Scoob ownership due to the huge costs to own even a UK Turbo, The Elise just doesent seem to depreciate, cheapest early S1 is about 12 grand, they were only about 20 new seven years ago, I could live with a grand a year depreciation from new or even less for second hand, I mean buy a Bug Eye and watch it plummet in value, sorry Bug Eye owners but I dont think they are going to be a good place for twenty grand. Plus given fuel prices, 30+ mpg sounds good compared to about what 20 !

Can't comment on Scooby vs Elise but have come from a Volvo T5. The thing that surprised me about the Elise is the interior quality and the overall solidness of it.
The drive really is something special and has to be experienced to be believed. I'm no racing driver but with my basic skills huge enjoyment can be had with the minimum of ability, especially with the roof off (which is a piece of pi$$ to do)
Mine is a Standard S1 with a couple of minor mods, so I would say around 120BHP is on tap which is plenty for my needs. The only time you feel the power lacking is on a straight line drag over 60mph. See if you can get along to a meet. Check the boards mentione earlier. I'm quite sure someone will be only too happy to show you what these litle things are capable of.
Just to wet the appetite............

Glad to see coming round Bedford in my S1 111s hasn't put you off!
To anyone interested why not get along to the Seloc track days at Brands on 29th April or Bedford on 5th May, should be near enough 100% elises for you to look at/get rides in etc. I will be bumbling around the tracks as normal...
Cheers
Simon (Not had roof on for over 2 weeks now )

I may come along and have a look at the Brands one as its close, is it anyone can come spectate? good mate of mine has a JPS type seventy something or other, not a member of the club or anything thou.
Have you actually bought that one yet Matt? you going to get it to nurburgring anytime? dont know if you remember, when a group of us saw you at the ring last year, one of my mates had the black Elise, thats the JPS one, loads of fun out there, except in the wet of course...he actually held the tegs up in the wet!! lol. (er, you are the same Matt who had the CTR we saw at Nurburg right? otherwise just ignore me)
Elises are becomming a popular choice these days, guess its the good MPG and running costs, and Id be tempted to ignore the rip off Lotus dealer servicing, and get it to a good independant garage, as being a rover unit, I dont think there's anything particullaly specilised in servicing them really (I stand to be corrected no doubt )
