16's at the moment, I will upgrade, but I want to be able to put the 16's back on as I can get 16" slicks at silly prices, whereas 17's and 18's are harder to come by.

If Ian does go for a group buy for 16inch wheels kits I'd be interested too.

Got a couple of months left in my disks b4 I need to change.

Cheers

Pickle - The cost of the 335mm kit includes any type of disc , but the bells are polished not coloured , there is no-one local to us that does it.

If you don't have the numbers for the 335mm kit then you can make them up with the 308mm four pot kits , they will be £550 in the group buy.

If anyone has any questions post on here or mail me

Cheers Ian

Ian,

we spoke briefly the other day about this kit. Is there a "Group Buy" price for fitting as well?

Blitz, Richard,
looks like we only need 2 more.
How many people want the 335mm kit and when are they looking to purchase?

Right Lads - Just spoken to Ian, and as he says in email above, he'll make up the lack of 335mm kits with 308mm !!!

As far as i can see the following want the 355mm kit : Me (Dougy Giro), Ozzy, Sennadog 93 and Pickle.

And the following want the 308mm kit: Chockymonster, Richard Curtis and Blitz imp reza.

Can we all confirm which kit we want - exact details of kit to be arranged with Ian.

So - I want the 335mm kit with grooved discs. I'm not to bothered about time coz i still got fair amount of wear on standards, so if anyone is desperate for theirs, they can get them before me.

Cheers
Dave.

Question

Dave/Ian,

Thanks for going to the trouble of organising this but after looking at the Godspeed website I am asking myself is this such a good deal.

I thought the subaru kits used the existing 4-pot calipers but just added a bracket to apply an offset needed for the bigger disks.

Just checked the webstite and a 308 kit complete with new 4-pot calipers is only £595 in a variety of fittings.

Spec as listed:
308mm Discs (any spec)
Aluminium bells
Pair of four pot calipers
Mounting brackets, nuts & bolts
Mintex M1144 fast road pads
Full Fitting instructions

Full Kit - £595

Surely if we are using our own calipers (mine cost £200 second hand on their own! ) the price should be cheaper than £550.

Have I missed something?

Cheers

Rich

Richard,

I've never really looked at the 308mm kit coz i want the 335mm kit.

The 335mm kit is like you say - ie WITHOUT calpiers, but it does appear that the 308mm comes with 4 pots!??

I dunno what the cost of the 308mm kit is if you want to use your existing 4 pots. Ian will have to answer this one.

Cheers

Definately want the 308mm kit.

As for the price difference between the 308 and the 355 kit, have you seen the cost of the 4 pot 355 kit?

There is not a direct comparison with and without calipers for the same size disks

Subaru 335 kit (without) £595
308 kit (with) £595
325 kit (with) £695
355 kit (with) £895

Looks as if there was a 335 kit (with) it would be around £750 - £800, roughly £150 - £200 for calipers, which seems fair enough.

Rich

Edited - coz i could not do basic maths

The difference is in the price of the discs , the alloy to make the bells , and the pads are more expensive , this makes them more expensive than the smaller discs , bells and pads , We can supply a 335mm four pot kit and they are £750 , Hope this helps , Cheers Ian

Ian,
I dont wanna speak for Richard, but i thought what he was getting at was the fact that he wants to use his original 4 pots with the 308mm discs.

Your web site doesnt give him that option coz the 308mm kit shown has 4 pot calipers included in the price. He wants a price for the 308mm kit without your calipers - I THINK.

Hope this is right - If not i'm sorry for butting in!!!!

Cheers

Our 308mm discs cannot be used with the standard subaru four pots , as the standard size is 294mm , only going to 308mm doesn't bring the caliper out far enough to fit a bracket , there is not enough room , we can supply a 294mm disc and bell to use with the calipers , or the next size up is the 335mm kit .

Dunno if i'm being a bit impatient, but I'd like to get Ian started on the brake kits.

So is it possible for you chaps who've expressed an interest in either kit to let me know one way or another as to whether you still want one.

Yey or Ney to my profile if you like.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

I would say a yes, but I'm being tempted by the Hi-Spec 6-pot upgrade. It'll definetely be GodSpeed or Hi-Spec, I just have to decide whether I want to push the boat out on some ally calipers.

The only concern I have is the excess weight when keeping the original Subaru 4-pots.

Does anyone know how much the Godspeed kit weighs? I have a note of the OEM weights to compare it too.

I'm waiting on a price for the Hi-Spec Monster 6 kit, so I'll make my decision once I know this.

Right, got some prices on the Hi-spec kit, but I've been told it's a 2-3 week delay.

Ian, if you're watching, what's the timescale for the 335mm kit if this goes ahead?

Ok Glenn - nice one!

Thats you and Chockmonster as defs for 308mm kit.
I want the 335mm kit.

Ozzy you going for the 335mm kit then - you know you wanna.

(I've never repied to the other group buy thread coz i dont wanns get into a slanging type of thread - But i used Willwoods on a Nova rally car once - they were absolute Sh*te - I put the standard Astra GTE ones back on - stacks better on same set up, it could just be that set up but they were noticably better!! This is just my opinion and i'm not trying to sway you one way or another - HONEST!!!)

Would others who've expressed an interest let me know one way or another please.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

It's either a £1200 Hi-Spec upgrade or a £600 Godspeed one. Still can't make up my mind

Is the Group Buy price £550 if we mix 308 kits with the 335 ones?

Ozzy,
No thats not the way i understand it.
335mm kit = £525
308mm Kit = £550

I presume this is to do with cost of calipers....?

Does that include delivery too?

Did Ian say if he can supply the Ferodo pads with the kits yet?

Are you going for some Goodridge hoses and fluid at the same time? Ian gave me some prices for these if you're interested.

To add a bit more info , we are expecting delivery of DS2500 pads for the 335mm kit any day now , but they will add £30 to the cost of the kit , we are doing the 335mm kit at £525 with either greenstuff or mintex M1144 pads , delivery is extra at £10 .

Dougy , yhm .
