For anyone stupid enough to still be awake like me, they have made progress.
Some people are going to be tired later

Sorry to hear that.

Will the project continue once you fixed the fire damage / hose ?

The continuing saga of getting it running properly would be good.
How did it feel power wise, and how far did the mapping get?

In the absence of David If i may
You really had to be there to appreciate David's car today, i could not believe how quickly it accelerated when it came on boost!
It is a real shame that the last weeks efforts may be overshadowed by a few mishaps today. I know today might not have gone as sweet as it could have but would anyone have believed David would be running up the strip if asked a couple of days ago? The ammount of hard work and effort that has gone into this is unbelievable!

Made my day seeing the Wagon appear!!

Rob

p.s. i need me some of that external wastegate **** man

Don't wanna put words in his mouth, but when I left he seems pretty satisfied just to have run. Oh, and utterly, utterly knackered from not having slept well for a week now. Kudos to everyone who helped out big style over the last three days. I can't believe an ECU can be relayed up to Leeds so fast, or that Mike dragged himself to the office to open up... That's well above and beyond the call of duty

To my *very* untrained eye, the damage ain't that bad and I'll be helping where I can (ie very little with my knowledge... plus I'm dangerous with anything running off a compressor ) to get it a little better for the shootout.

A good day, and fantastic to see this run. It will be a 'kin flying machine.

Cheers,
Nick.

51 weeks to think about it too

Whats it like to drive David?, it must feel seriously rapid. It looks well with the new front and wheels in si's pics.

Look forward to seeing it sorted and running at some events soon?

David and all,
A truly amaising job!!
I can't imagine what it will be like when fully run in and mapped (though I think you need a bigger turbo)

The 550 mile round trip was worth it to see "The car" let alone the rest of the runners that did so well

Proud to have been there supporting the Scooby team!
And great to meet the "masters" and see so much help and support for all.

Roll on next year 'cos I'll be there again!!

after towing the car back last night to my house and power washing the engine down to get rid of the co2 stuff before it damages anything, on initial looks it appears that not much damage has occoured.

There is slight scorching to the turbo inlet pipe and some of the rubber on the air filter has melted, but it still looks usable.

Made me happy to see it run, shame i did not run against him as we wanted to, will wait till scooby shot out for that.

the car will be coming home on tuesday.. I will clean it up then.. it will then have some time booked on rollers after a few other tweaks are done and then be mapped properly,,

fuelling issues need sorting as do little bits such as last minute wiring jobs..

Will be ready in a few weeks.. I need some practice in the car..

Kept hitting the limiter on first two runs.. third run was a lot better but didnt manage another one.. gearing or boost seemed funny in top.. did one run in topspeed lane and went off the clock and was still accelerating in top when I hit the limiter..

Didnt get a ticket with my top speed on though

lifted off when I hit the limiter and dropped to about 140.. so put foot back down and hit limiter again.. doh..
