Ipro,
That saddens me greatly. Violence doesn't sort anything out (apart from WWII of course), but that is an indication of the people, rather than what is said on here. People who resort to fighting probably will for any disagreement, technical or p1ss taking.
Dave Thornton,
It must have been a mistake.

Ian,
Well said, I've had problems with every company I've dealt with, with my Scooby. BUT I have not sounded off as these problems have been sorted out. I have relised what damage can be done to a company.
Phil,
Don't know how to phrase this exactly, but part of the hostility (if it is that) may have been that a week ago we had never heard of you, and if you look at your posts in that light you can understand the reaction.
Don't get me wrong I think your input will be very helpfull and the offer of fuel supply of higher octane at circuits would certainly be taken up by me if I was on the track at Donnington.
Paul

Mark, J didnt say if people dont stop posting x and y etc, he said i will not be posting to the BBS anymore ? He wasnt asking for sympathy or understanding, just making a statement and sticking to it.
BTW if all the suppliers leave the BBS, it will no longer exist, remember its through their sponsorship, and Phil using his own money to provide the service, that we are all still here ????

I was going to keep out of this, and in light of recent banter, I too have decided to make this my last posting for a while...
it's obvious that Donno is looming as the Testosterone levels are rising....
Some of you have made valid points and this thread has some great debates going on...
...but as far as Jay's input is concerned.... most of you don't have a clue - and it's a real shame ... ...
...be careful if any of you decide to respond to my comments.... you don't want to be accused of 'FAWNING' round me now do you...
Penni
PS: Diablo thanks - and yes I do

The BBS is surely a forum to share subaru related information. 90% is bound to be opinionated. Opinions on mods, suppliers, driving, styling, etc etc are bound to be more negative than positive - that is just human nature.
Kotlers theory - a satisfied person tells 4 people of their satisfaction, a dissatisfied person tells 11 people of their dissatisfaction.
But all opinions should be viewed as that. Facts however, are facts. I gained an incredible amount of information about my car when I first got it, and have since been able to impart my experiances to many other people to help them. Some opinions I agree with some I don't - but I am not forced to read any of them.
I have likewise been vocal about a number of organisations/suppliers/businesses etc. But I have been complementary about more organisations/suppliers than I have been critical of, especially when I have received what I consider to be above average levels of service.
The BBS was the single biggest assistence when I organised the Northern Meet last year helping us get 51 along, and is again a major benefit to assist the arrangements for the next meet later this month (26th - events thread).
You are bound to get the @rseholes on public forums - ignore them and they'll go away eventually, bite and they will come back for more.
Everyone can greatly benefit from the BBS - just don't take life, and comments made, too seriously if you are easily offended or riled!!
As my mother used to say - "In life you have to sort the wheat from the chaff." Looks like the same applies to the BBS!

I'm a new boy around here, but I've already found the board useful (what was that ticking noise?) and fun (see the Why? thread for a start!).
I've no problem with people typing bull, as it's usually obvious, and if I don't approve I can always read a more interesting thread. IMHO surely the best way to make decent conversation here is to write what you'd like to read (if you see what I mean)?
Just take flames with a pinch of salt and chill out is what I say.

I think its usually best to ignore people who make histrionic announcements and posts.Otherwise it only gives them the satisfaction and attention they crave.
I wont be shedding any tears for one. It seems that as the BBS gets bigger, individual egos feel threatened.

Ipro: Blimey! The only person I know of who was in physical danger after use of this board was Greg of BPM at the PE dyno meet after his initial advertising barrage. But even then, I thought it was more verbal than physical danger...
As for the 'Headcorn station boys', well obviously we've got a temper, but who wouldn't - have you tried the coffee there in the mornings...?
Ian: Hopefully I cleared up the confusion as to what I implied that J did or didn't say in the earlier post. As for Phil using his own money to fund the service, surely by now he's got enough sponsorship to pay for most of the BBS? And if not, why doesn't he introduce some sort of membership/donation scheme? I know we've been through this before, but it wouldn't be difficult to do...
Penny (if you're still here...): Oops. Looks like I made to big a deal of the fawning thing. It doesn't really bother me (I couldn't care less) but I just don't want to see the BBS turn into a dating agency....
As for not having a clue about Jay's input, go on then, enlighten us?
WigWam: Couldn't have put it better myself.

Everyone should be lovely and if something is a guess or 2nd hand info re a problem should say so.

Having just got in to the Scooby thing, just like to say you're lucky to have a board at all. My hobby is Hovercraft Racing (!) and the club has a website with a board on it.
However, due to myself and another guy putting a couple of messages on the board about the way the clubs (badly) run, they've closed the board down! So much for free speech.
This boards excellent, at least you guys have opinoins, and that's what keeps it interesting and a club alive. If somebody posts something you don't like, just ignore it!
