Daily driver 2.4 or 2.5 project - target 450 BHP/400lbft reliable
The big advantage with new age boost control appears to be that it uses initial and held wastegate duty cycles
Itīs realy is a dream to setup (after you know how it works......), rock solid boost control under most circumstances.
In the MY03/04 WRX you can even add or subtract dutycycle depending on what gear itīs using! Very nice. (too bad itīs only for the "normal" WRX, not the STi.......)
Mark.
Mark,
I adjust duty cycle per gear (as a percentage) on the STi8's I do.....but only where the customer confirms he's prepared to ruin his clutch in short order
Boost control with adjusted duty cycles to hit (or even exceed) target boost in lower gears makes for very nice t-junction exists and vastly improved driveability. The Denso's granularity does indeed make it better than the AVC-R.

I think he was saying he was posting to subscribe to the thread.. rather than just clicking on thread tools --> subscribe to thread which I find much easier... but I think he also said Good luck.. or he had a good look I am not certain

SX is on, much much consistent than FSE, holds pressure astonishing well too.
Maybe still a bit of sweating of oil at the turbo oil inlet, might need to get the pipe redone.
Other than that car is "finished"... for now

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
it wont...
92 - 96 heads are different..
manifolds were different between...
92 -96
97 - 98
99 +
if its a 97 - 98 it may bolt on with alterations.. a 99+ needs surgery..

Thanks David,
i should have remembered that from my first engine swap. i went from a 93 to a 98 and had to swap over the bits.
so next question; whats the paint code for the manifold....heh heh (I'mserious)

here in NZ i could only get wrinkle paint in three coloyrs, red, black or gray.
this is my ver3 sti manifold repainted with red wrinkle paint. all 1.5 cans of it. its hard to know how much to put on when your've never used it. i hindsight i would of only used 1 can so it wasn't so wrinkly but i'm happy with the way it came out.

Are those the original (cast?) pistons that came in the short block from the USA or one of the forged ones?
Lost track of what you put in there in the end John...
Presumably the crack was there for some time.
