??? heard some people drill them and use existing fog light holes, might look a bit messy though, or you could try a big rubber band round the whole car to hold em on?

Question

Peccy,

You mentioned on page 1 that the TEK2 was only £625?

Did you get that on 'special' or weren't you including the VAT?

Dying to get a TEK-2-too! But funds are tighter than a fishes **** at the mo....

Cheers

Don't mean to butt in on a TEK-2 convo, but I had a Unichip done for £650 inc Vat and it improved my MY92 WRX immensly. Is a TEK-2 just a form of chipping?

T.

P.S. PECCY, I think you done a bloody good job with your cars looks.

Is that the PE T75 exhaust you have on there?
Been considering one of those myself, looks nice, does it sound any good?

Peccy

I'm amazed and frankly suspicious. Uk turbo, 2 extra doors, steel bonnet, same basic engine, transmission, abs etc, aircon?? Can't see where the weight saving or conversely weight gain for the P1 would come from. Carpets? big tail spoiler? (50 KG, don't think so). Bigger wheels , brakes perhaps, but then that would just make the P1 quicker again anyway

That`s a nice lookin scoob peccy and it`s all about personal opinion. It`s your own car so do as you please to it and if any1 slates what you`ve done then their opinion aint worth worrying about.
I cant believe ppl on here argue over who`s got 30bhp more than some1 else....lol lets all enjoy our scoobs whatever they are!
Sonic, was that you who got lost with us worcs lot on the way to Santa Pod?...if so, yours is a fine lookin motor!

peccy the difference in weight from a uk and a p1 is basically the aircon on a p1 aircon was standard and on a uk it would of been an extra fitted at the dealers

thus the weight difference is nothing as soon as you have the aircon

X SOOOBY, Fatboy

just quoted what i read in EVO Magazine and from other sources, double checked, infact the UK Turbo is the lightest scooby on the list, although a type RA isnt listed.

P1 1283kg
Turbo 1235kg

dont ask me why?

TREG,

depends on what kinda power you want? i started with the exhaust, then induction then a remap to tune it all in, thinking about a bigger turbo and associated bits later...

Looking really good now Peccy.

I remember when you brought it to Well lane totally boggo.

Much improved from then. Looks and power wise.

Keep on modding! Suspension and brakes next I recommend.

Think someone said earlier that a P1 FEELS quicker than a UK car with similar power. It will, The P1 has similar gearing to a UK but with 4.44 diffs, making it feel more accelerative. Not sure what diffs the MY00 has , but it's probably 3.9 or 3.545.

Cheers

Rich

Question

oops! forgot to ask.

When you had the TeK2 done, was it mapped on the rollers or on the road?

Just interested.

Cheers

RICH,

it was mapped on the rollers at PE, is it better to get the mapping done on the road under proper driving conditions?

next mod is an AP clutch ready for the racing season

Peccy,

Depends who you talk to. Car behaves differently on the rollers to on the road. A car mapped on rollers will get good rr figures. A car mapped on the road may well not run as well on rollers but should be better on the road.

Suppose it's like running on a treadmill and running on the road, they are the same... but different

Cheers

Rich

whats going on with all thease look-alikes? its stupid trying to immatate a supercar with extra doors for the kids on it! remember a p1 has a sti engine and its thesame as a sti6 type r just with uk mods on it.the only turbo 2000 that could probially beat a p1 is nito's one, who my old man got his p1 off @ bell & colvill but thats got 350bhp! and its a estate! so at the end of the day a 2000 or whatever would be as quick or handle like a p1!

First of all the P1 doesn't come in an estate 2nd, John Bank's humble little Turbo 2000 would make a P1 driver think he had the handbrake on

What sort of difference does de-cat, induction kit and re-map make to M.P.G when your pushing out around 280 B.H.P?

What exaust and induction kit did peccy put on?
