"But nonethless, it is a very strange situation and is something that sits very, very uncomfortably with me."
agreed, a 40+ bloke sleeping with a kid is odd but the discomfort comes from the belife he abuses them.....he says he doesnt.

I actually could watch much past the shopping trip. MJ is a truly strange individual but omfg @ MB's interviewing... how cruel and patronising was he? It made me cringe.
o well. At least it make me turn the TV off and go do something less boring instead

What's more believable, MJ's skin condition or God
Tell you what, it's not MJ's behaviour that bothers me so much
'certain mark or marks' on a certain part of MJ's anatomy
MJ is a truly strange individual but omfg
for the record, I categorically deny all of the above

I now like Jacko a lot more than I used to, but hate Martin Bashir.
"stop, let me just repeat what you said in a menacing way to sensationalise it" FFS
Jacko is obviously a very sad, lonely man trying to regain parts of his life he missed out on. He hasn't lived in the real world since he was 8, of course he's strange.
You could tell when he was lying, so I don't think he lied about his relationships with kids.
He made a good point, what sort of world do we live in when we'd rather believe he was abusing these kids rather than it being innocent? It's a fact of life that there are some sick people around, but that doesn't mean that everyone is like that.
I wasn't a Jacko fan before this program, although his stuff up to "Bad" was pretty good, but I see him in a better light now.

Flicked over from the Leonado and CSI to watch bits of this. I found Martin Bashir a bad choice, whilst he is a journalist and there to get at the real MJ he was patronising and seemed to have no respect for his 'victim' which should never come across even if this is not the case.
MJ seem to live in his own world not unlike that of a childs.
as for leting my kids sleep with him i think not, but then again what do i know of him,, just this docco really which is not enough.
MJ is in a catch 22 after the press he has had, rightly or wrongly, who the **** knows except him.
Loved the La Vegas shopping sequence and the shop manager rubbing his hands together with glee

I also like him alot more because of the interview. He came across as very sincere, caring, strange and unique all in one. He did do and say some things that were left field. MJ is cool (in the clarkson way), considering all that fame and money has done to him since he was a child. I think theres alot of jealous people out there who just don't want to admit it.
The interviewer was a total ****. Obviously was trying to make a name for himself. He was in contact with him over an 8 month period, and the final interview was as if he was a lawyer. He made me feel more uneasy than Michael did.

The only thing you could really be jealous of is his musical talent and fame from it, which is exceptional and his wealth. However I don't think either of those things are worth all the bad stuff that has happened in his life IMHO.

just read The Sun, their front page headline and initial papragraphs are no different to what they would have written if MJ had admited having sex with the kids. the world would be a better place with more MJ's and less Suns!

I don't agree, or feel comfortable with the way he is.
But, the program did highlight some of the reasons why he is the way he is. Emotionally stuck at 12 years old, and not wanting to grow up. The way he was shopping in vegas in that 'art' shop reminded me of the way kids are in toy shops.
I have to admit I have more sympathy with him now as a result of the interview.
He's not lived in the real world for over 35 years, of course he's gonna be unconventional.
IMO if he's not hurting anyone then he should be left to it.
Live and let live.

Have to agree about Martin Bashir. Is it any wonder MJ does so few interviews! He was really set up for a fall there. Let Bashir get close to him for months, trusted him around his kids and then got put 'in the dock' for the final interview. Made me cringe like others said.
The thing is I am the first person to say 'string em up', 'life should mean life', etc, etc when it comes to paedophiles, rapists, et al. BUT to me MJ just seems desperate to create that innocent childhood world around him that we all miss once we grow up.
I know there are times when I wish I could 'opt out' of being a grown up with all the stresses, responsibilities and anxieties that go with it, and feel that warm, safe, happy feeling that you have (and take for granted as a kid). I'm sure I'm not the only one. That's probably why I crave my 'big boy' toys now. If I couldn't have those pure moments of playing - mountain biking with friends, jetskiing with my brother, driving my car fast, getting covered in mud motocrossing - I'd probably be in therapy (perhaps I should be anyway )
MJ didn't have that same transition from childhood to adulthood that we all did, it got screwed up along the way, and now he has the means to keep himself 'locked' in a child's world (surrounded by other kids) and not have to face the world outside. Talented? Yes. Weird? Yes. Sad? Yes. Perverted? Not necessarily.
The trouble is, to accept that he COULD actually just be an innocent screwed up guy doesn't sell as many papers!

innit! I go raving and drive my car "progressivly" to keep me sane in the working week too.
However if i had his money, I'd be making the most of it. Putting on the best free raves in the world. Why? Cos I had the money.

--Of course you could. Perhaps he didn't want it dragged through the courts?--
Dont be so bloody silly, he just got 'dragged' through the mud for 10 years by every form of media know to man.
Thats why I pay all my speeding fines, I dont want to get dragged through the courts, honest...........

Bearing in mind his childish attitude towards life his attitude was probably to pay them off instead of fight to clear his name. And when he has that amount of money then 18 million wont really go amiss and he ends up with a court free life that if he had decided to fight it could have dragged on years forcing him to spend time in court etc. He said he didnt watch TV or read the papers, he is not paying any attention to what the media said about it, he just wanted the easiest way out, pretty much the route any child would take to get out of a situation they didn't like.
He doesn't seem to have normal adult rational thoughts so clearing his name like most people would want to do I believe didn't really concern him.

Jye you seem to overlook the fact that if there was a serious case with evidence the police would have arrested him anyway on charges of child abuse whether he wanted to settle out of court or not. He was never arrested or charged, to me it stinks of a family making severe amounts of money out of him, like many do in the USA over the most outrageous claims for ther most stupid of incidents.

but it is relatively little too him ... why did the family not pursue the matter, have justice served in the interest of others and then sued for various damages ... have you not read my previous posts ? ... if there is any truth in the allegations then that family have basically got to explain to their child who was subjected to whatever sexual or perverted actions that the offender still walks free with 4 shopping trips down to do what ever he was alleged to do to somebody else ...

I agree, but this would all have been thrashed out with lawyers, ie, not the family, MJ 'or' the police.
Kids lawyer - Weve got 'something' on MJ.
MJ lawyer- tell me about this 'something' then.
Kids lawyer- its 'nasty', it 'could' go to trial, give us 30 mill.
MJ lawyer- its not 30 mill 'nasty', we could win, have 10 mill.
Kids lawyer - hmm, its 'nastier' than that, We WILL go to court.
MJ lawyer - OK 18 mill or we WILL go to court and WE will win.
Kids lawyer - OK you damn cheapscates, Its up to the family then.
Kids lawyer to kids family - (thinking of the commission on 18 mill) What would you like, MJ prosecuted for fiddling (and we could easily lose) or 18 million dollars, its your call...
Mom & Pop - Gee, thats a tough one, I suppose 18 mill will help little (insert name) get over the trauma and set 'us' up for the rest of our lives (parents grab cash and run).

My thoughts on the programme.
I felt MJ to be nothing more than a nieve and lonely child in a man's body... he said more than once that he was Peter Pan if you read the story... isn't Peter Pan and man running about pretending to be a child and surrounding himself with more children....
What I felt to be a true betrayal was the way Martin Bashir spent so much time with the guy - getting him on side - Michael actually seemed to trust the man... then at the end of the show Martin Bashir literally stabbed him in the back with his final questions, that made me feel very uncomfortable being witness to it and very sad for MJ - his first real interview and that's what happened.
Yes he's a bit weird but can anyone lay claim to not being a 'bit weird' in their own way. He's nothing more than a child who is trying to compensate for the lack of love he's had in his life... maybe he's not going about it quite the right way that we demand in our society today...and no I don't believe he is a child abuser...I doubt if he's ever had sex in his entire life...
But I did come away feeling sorry for the fact that his innocent trust has yet again been abused.

With all due respect rubbish!
His defence has been established over time. People have been drawn in over time.
The guy is a mental case.
You don't think he might have read "Peter Pan" and thought "oh that's a good one".
I'm sorry but he said he had only had two operations on his nose "so he ould hit the high notes".... rubbish... cleft chin, lips, cheek bones, nose (several time) and eyes...
He should be banned from coming with in 20 feet of a child especially his alleged own children.

I expressed my opinion as have everyone else here and I respect yours. I doubt if anyone will ever know the truth about the man... can't say I really care that much ...
But please do realise how clever editing can always change the whole slant of any interview...

Editing whch had control over.
You are entitled to your opinion and I didn't mean the "rubbish" comment to be directed entirely at you but at the "he is the victim" typre agruments in general.
This discussion is more pub like than normal... in fact the last one about Jacko in the pub two people walked out. Something to do with the fact that the rest of the group decided he should be put in a mental institute and allowed no human contact! (Bit extreme but it had been a long night) (He should be allowed to see the person giving him the drugs)
