Started doing Maths, Chemistry and Computing.
Got 6% for my first maths homework so jacked that in.
Then got thrown off the chemistry A level for sword fighting with pipettes Remember it well
Ended up doing Computing, Art and Gen Studies - preferred to spend time on my MG Metro and girls back then rather than learning
Did OK in the end though - managed to get on a marketing degree through clearing, got my head down and came out with a BA Bus Comm degree 2:1

Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Economics (A, B, A, A). Then a degree in Physics with Astrophysics, then a Masters in Astrophysics.
Now, like nearly everyone else, I'm an IT consultant

Did all 3 as well, plus futher maths. Did an MEng in electronic engineering afterwards, now I'm hanging on to a job in the defence industry with my fingertips! (just moved into systems engineering from working in digital electronics (FPGAs and stuff))
I found the A levels quite easy, so I didn't put in a lot of work (apart from thinking up excuses as to why I wasn't there...). Chemistry was just a case of remembering things, maths was easy enough given a bit of practice, and physics was practice at the maths you'd just learned!
I got a real shock at uni when I had to actually do work & read books!

Maths Physics and Computer Science (We were the first year to do the exam and used CBM's with 16K of memory)
Maths 0 level grade acheived in A level exam (Forecast B)
Physics 0 level grade acheived in A level exam (Forecast C)
Comp Sci E (Forecast A)
So because of the difference between the forecasts and the grades the school kindly had the maths and computer science remarked. I neglected to tell them I had done virtually no revision.
The Comp Science remark contained some classic comments:
"Answer no to an A Level Question is not sufficient"
"The question contained more information than the answer given by the candidate
I guess the school weren't to pleased..... now work in banking operations for an investment bank.

your head either works in "that way" or it doesnt. I did maths and phys for a year, but my brain just doesnt work in that way - so I quit and did something else.
All worked out fine, got my degree, 3 years commercial IT experience then got laid off...............sh1te

Took Maths. Got a U.
Also took Physics. Also got a U.
Economics was better: got a N (Nerarly a grade but Not Quite).
Maybe spending the 6th form learning how to drink and how to **** had something to do with it.
School qualifications have never really figured in my career. Common sense and hard graft has. As a result, life is good.
