Claudius u really are a clown...go back to where ever you came from m8...MLR wasn't it. If i remember right you were the same there as you are here....bloody idiot springs to mind

I have had two sets of brakes from Ian @ Godspeed and have had absolutely no problems with them whatsoever. I currently have the 335mm Kit on the front of my RB5 and these brakes are awesome, no other word for it really.

Ian does not need threads like this one undermining him and his work, i see no real reason for claudius being the complete tw@t that he is....nothing productive to say, dont say anything at all!

Scoobyboy, just send Ian your discs m8 and stop whinging

Just my view as Another happy Godspeed customer

My go now.

Ian Godney knows what customer service is all about. He has done his upmost to ensure I was satisfied with the goods I bought from him. He has rectified problems, sent parts out especially for me all at his cost with no questions asked.

Yes you pay your money and you take a choice. Ians kits are competitive in price and may not fit like an OEM kit, but they do everything they are specified to do.

I'm happy with my product and I'm warmly pleased by the customer service Ian and Godspeed have provided.

If you have a problem with a supplier don't expect them to bend over backwards when you wash your dirty linen in public! (Ian, you are too good sometimes to these gimps!)

Andy.

RB5, what's your problem? I am asking a question about discs, which I dont get an answer to, from your fabulous customer service Ian. Whatever. But why the name calling? Did I ever call you an idiot or a tw@t? I dont know you and you dont know me, so why not leave the thread about brake discs, since that's what it's about?

Question

Claudius, not picking a fight or anything but have you ever asked AP, Brembo, etc for a set of "evaluation" discs on your "if I don't break 'em I'll buy 'em" terms ?

I'm intrigued to know what their response was ...

I have just fitted replacement disks (drilled/grooved), pads (Mintex 1144) and braided hoses (Goodridge) from Ian/Godspeed.
I had a minor issue with the courier which was not Ian's fault although he helped to resolve it and everything fitted fine and works superb so far.
Can't fault it I'm afraid. I find the cost extremely reasonable and the service fine.

Neil.

OK, my 2p's worth since everyone else is doing it.

I bought two front discs for my 93WRX from Godspeed, drilled+grooved, Mintex 1144 pads and some Kevlar rear pads. Main reason was that steering wheel was wobbling big time due to warped original discs.

First problem was that, although the discs arrived on time, and there was a contents note in there, the Kevlar pads were not present.

I contacted Ian about this and he said he would send me some more but never did. I couldn't be bothered to pursue it because clearly Ian had probably forgotten or thought I was trying to cheat him out of some extra rear pads or something. Probably the former.

Anyway nothing has arrived since (about a year ago now).

Then the disc problem, my new pair of discs warped within a few hundred miles, I got them re-skimmed myself (can't afford to send discs back to Wales and have car off the road for at least a week)and again they warped within a few serious stoppages from 100+mph.

Anyway I put it down to hub carrier or worn wheel bearing because even with re-skimmed discs they still warped. Don't know what the problem really was to this date.

Even though, on my new Impreza (rolled the last one hahah) I'll still probably go back to Godspeed, but this time the seperate bells version with 4-pots and bigger discs, even though it sounds like Ian MAY have too much on his plate as a one-man band to keep everyone entirely satisfied.

Cheers,
Spence

Claudius the reason why i felt i had to post was because i know Ian personally and feel you were out of line with some of the cocky things you said:

Quote : I think that people who brake hard will get problems with these discs, people who dont wont.

I got emails from people with Evos who had problems with these discs when Ian tried to sell them on the MLR.

Quote: Who? Me? Because your discs dont give enough pad clearance or used not to, I am a clown?

Quote: I didnt mean that story but someone else.

Perhaps you should reword your warranty to "first owner guarantee" or something?

Quote: I dont think that's rubbish. You surely know wbout your disc material, heat and / or surface treatment and how many degrees it can take; if my pads can take 800°C and your discs 950°C, then chances are I cannot warp them. Now if I change to 1000°C pads, I will. Tell me how much temp your discs can take before expanding and I tell you if I can warp them or not.

Quote: I will try your discs on my Evo or on my Impreza if you like. If I warp them, I send them back, if I dont, I will pay for them. How about that?

Quote: dont know who gives a warranty on discs, you may well be the only one. I'd have to check on that. FYI, I am going to Nogaro on Feb 8/9. Let me know if you want me to try your discs there It's a former F1 track in South Western France...

Quote: How impressed do you think your potential customers are when they see you chicken out in front of me because I go to a high speed track?

You didnt answer my technical questions, btw....

Quote: Excuse me, but arent you supposed to get a new set now?

These replies Claudius are what make you an arrogant arsehole im my eyes. You had no right to come on here and start slagging off Ian and his kits. Your first post contained - Quote : I think that people who brake hard will get problems with these discs, people who dont wont.

Which to me implies that the discs and kit that Ian supplies are not up to the specification and would not perform as required.

How would you know this information before hand if you have never had a set of Ians discs???

Seems to me you just want to poke your nose in m8, simple answer really **** off

I know Ian personally and have his kit on my car, soon to have the rears too so i felt it neseccary to get involved in this one!

My problem with you stems back to the MLR forum where i believe you are from. Almost 100% sure in fact, Your From: Evoland
kinda gives the game away. You were an absolute dick to some of the members of scoobynet when we posted over on the MLR forum so now we can return the favour.

Sorry for the delay in reply RB5, I didnt really read this until you reminded me

Anyway, here goes: why "in your eyes"? I think pretty much everybody here thinks I am an arrogant ***-hole. I'm sure the people who've met me can confirm.

You had no right to come on here and start slagging off Ian and his kits.
In that case, why wasnt my post deleted? I think I did have the right to say what I said. "Slagging off" isnt really the term. Questioning it I'd say

From the fact that several people warped his discs and from the fact that he didnt answer my techincal questions. While this isnt a definitely valid conclusion, I suppose you'd agree we've got a lot of indices there.

Seems to me you just want to poke your nose in m8, simple answer really **** off
LOL That was funny mate, but you know I'm not like that, dont you?

I know Ian personally and have his kit on my car, soon to have the rears too so i felt it neseccary to get involved in this one!
I fail to see the link, but hey, you're free to say what you please, you live in a monarchy! LOL

Absolutely correct. Fair enough. Good banter is what it's all about Dont take it too seriously though

PS: Remember the PPP thread? That was the funniest thing there last year! LOL

Claudius i'm glad you could spare us the time to reply. Busy man as you are!

Anyway back to Business, if there is no link in the fact that i'm a good friend of Ian and have used the Discs, Pads & Kit in Question then why the hell are you posting here?? Do you know Ian, do you have his Kit and have you ever had his Kit??

Looks to me like the answers to both questions are "NO". Therefore you have nothing that can be of interest other than what you have already said, which i might add is more or less rubbish.

i.e. Gimmie a set of discs and pads and i'll see if i can warp them. LOL m8 is that just to prove a point or are you just being your funny old self??

As for the Monarchy part its actually nice to see that you've ventured off your throne and come down to what i would call "the real world". Since you obviously think that EVO's are the be all and end all of cars im actually surprised your taking the time to post here.

The post about the PPP was not started by me but when i said that there was no need for the amount of personal abuse you were throwing at a particular person i got a load of it too. I dont forget things like that or people like you.

You have a nasty habbit of pissing people off with your less than normal attitude Claudius, i would imagine that Ian is pissed off with the questions and suggestions that seem to lead nowhere, bet being a company he has to keep what he says professional.

If you haven't had a kit then would it be best not to say anything?? Regardless if people have e-mailed you, you should just say take it up with Godspeed if you aren't happy with Kit/service etc. Not take it upon yourself to be a voice of the MLR lads....have they got tongues or are you just the master and the one with the *****?

Thats about all i got to say to you!

Well, if you answer your own questions, then I suppose I dont have to

i.e. Gimmie a set of discs and pads and i'll see if i can warp them. LOL m8 is that just to prove a point or are you just being your funny old self??
I also offered to pay the full price for them in case I cannot warp them, dont forget that

Since you obviously think that EVO's are the be all and end all of cars im actually surprised your taking the time to post here.
I do indeed think that the Evo is the best car for my use, which is why I bought one.

I never said Imprezas arent any good; well on the contrary actually. Which is the reason I own one of them BTW All I said is that they arent as good as an Evo. Which is fair enough, given that they are cheaper. I believe you misinterpreted some of my thoughts, which I try to bring over with my poor English. Sorry for the confusion.

The post about the PPP was not started by me but when i said that there was no need for the amount of personal abuse you were throwing at a particular person i got a load of it too.
Again, I think you take this sort of stuff wayy too seriously. Just chill out and enjoy your car, man

Seems as good a thread as any to post my experiences with Godspeed.

I ordered from Ian at Godspeed some 294mm x 28mm discs with spacers, stainless hoses and some fluid. Someone else recommended this kit on here that has had good experiences with it.

Anyway I places the order on the Monday by email, posted the cheque the same day. In the order email I asked about delivery time, as I wanted to book my car in to my local garage to have the kit fitted. Ian said to book my car in for the next Thursday and he would get the kit shipped in time. Kit arrived with the garage on the Wednesday.

The garage fitted the kit, when I collected the car later in the day, I asked if they had experienced any problems, to which the reply was none, all the bits went together without any problems.

Can't comment on braking performance yet as I'm still bedding in the pads, but initial feeling is good (well compared to the previous brakes on my car)

Just my experience

Paul

don't want to get in this WWIII too much but i noticed
1 thing is that Ian seems a guy who seems helpful and tries his best to get things sorted, maybe they warp. but he helps out and gets it perfect the end of the day!

R.B.5
is protective to IAn because he knows him, and likes his product.(or even if there was a problem maybe it has been sorted)

claudius
seems to be getting involved in this debate. however
it seems like you never used his product
the
Quote: I will try your discs on my Evo or on my Impreza if you like. If I warp them, I send them back, if I dont, I will pay for them. How about that?
has got to be silly though. theres a guy who comes to my chippy and asks to try abit of kebab meat and if he thinks its alright he might buy some. i said to him giving me his money if i spend it and it seems alright i will accept his money.

why not say you buy his discs and if they warp you have your money back, now that sounds more sensible.

IAN,
i believe he doesn't answer any questions because maybe hes Pi$$ed off with timewasters, the way ian ignored the big debate betwen claudius and rb5 is sensible

i am not linked with anybody here please don't diss me!
sorry if i have upset anyone(even though i don;t think i have)
anyway have a nice day

Its about time I chucked my 2p in aswell.

I bought a kitfrom Ian for the front of my RB5, 330mm rotors with aluminium bells, spacers to widen caliper and adapters for moving the caliper.

I work for a skyline tuning company so I have seen more than my fair share of brakes and have to say that i am fully impressed with the quality of the discs (I thought the machining on the adapters was a bit lack lustre, but I am an aerospace machinist by trade so probably just being picky) Anyway the kit is fine with no problems when it came to fitting, the discs are still not warped and I am usually VERY heavy on brakes, so absolutely no complaints there. From time to time people bring Impreza's in and I have always reccomended Ian's kit to them, and have had glowing reports from 2 customers I sent Ians way.

Keep up the good work,

well jees on a bike is all i can say, thought id read this sight to obtain a decent fair view of godspeeds products, well im no clearer on whether they are great or crap, this has deteorated into a pure bickering slanging match, is there anyone out there woh is able to keep their emotions in check enough to give a reasonable, constructive, fair and objective account of godspeeds products for the posotive or negative ?? if so id be very interested.
Oh and as far as company's letting puntors down on delivery times, well they are all capable of doing it /making errors, sometimes we[the puntor] have to remember that 'we' are no the only customer in th whole world of commerce, even though we all expect to be treat like we are. i had a problem with dleivery from ggr, they cocked it up twice, but i got my product in the end, and they knocked £45-00 off the top for my inconvenience so no tears from me.
anyway hope there is gonna be some intelligent objective comments here soon

Cool

well i`ll add another 2p`s worth .i recived my kit off ian yesterday, and i`m very impressed with the quality of kit(yet to be fitted, tuesday). Ian`s customer service was spot on, rang me to say the kit was on it way, which i thought was a nice touch. found him very helpfull when i ordered the kit, i was looking at a more expensive kit and said his own kit was more than up to the job, rather than sell somthing that was £200 more. that might be silly on his part but made me think that i was dealing with someone honest.

very clever. im impressed... maybe next time you could think of your own gags too

As for the tyres... its irrelevant now, I just dont bother. I supply to people I know and thats it.

(Oh, and no, I dont have a garage, or make money out of it, I had a contact who was like minded in scoobys, and said he was happy to supply tyres until he got the runaround so many times he jacked it in.)

Whether I choose to read the thread, well I will continue to read them all, just try not to get wound up by people like you.
