As a fiesta owner, i cant agree with that post above, its quite immature.
My stepdad has an impreza - 2001 WRX and I have a fiesta.
Being a young lad, I can only just afford the insurance on it as a 1.1, let alone a turbo, and standard, well it looks like a shed, hell, it IS a shed, but I've modded it tastefully so that it looks reasonable. Yes, I've spent more on the car that It cost me.
(cost 500 and I've spent just over a grand on it) but the insurance hasnt been affected and it costs me 1100 anyway!
now for 1500 quid, could i have really done much better for a first car? with that sort of insurance too? i think not.
Now to pursuade my stepdad to add me to his insurance!
Yes, I'd love a scooby, theyre nice fast cars and they look good. bur for the money, its not what I'd get. And I certainly wouldnt get a fiesta!

Few points because I'm bored...
i) Sunnys 350+ bhp Fiesta
ii) Paul R's 0-60 in 4.82 sec fiesta (Still FWD)
iii) As already stated, why bother looking round a fiesta forum if you have no interest in it, 'Chakira' or who ever the *** who started this post was called.
iv) As already stated most people on that board are quite young and due to insurance reasons have a fiesta.
v) The rest have a passion (you may have to bear with me on this one) and actually enjoy doing their car up, and as opposed to worrying about how cool they'll look 'cruizin' round town in their 'designer' sun-glasses they are more worried about doing something constructive that they enjoy.
vi) Most people on there don't even like scoobies because as already stated they are quite common (compared to say an Escort Cosworth) and they are mostly ford oriented so would go for a cozzie over a scooby.
vii) There are much better cars out there for the money. For example if I were to spend 5-6K on a car I'd go with a well maintained 300ZX.. looks more impressive, would whoop *** I should imagine (276 brake as standard I think) and not as 'off the shelf'
Can't be bothered to write any more. This message was in no way meant to cause any offence to any open minded people on this board or those that can remember where they came from (and I have seen a lot just from this post). I assume that most of you were uni students etc to be in relatively well paid jobs to afford a scooby so have a bit of ******* respect for people and remove your heads from your asses ;o)

This has to be one of the most civilised responses to a slagging off I've seen - kudos for that.
I'm about to re-install all the ICE and if I can make something that looks anywhere near as good as 'kin shed owners , I'd be so chuffed
Nick.

LOL!!!
I'd love to dig this thread out in a few years when the Impreza will have the same street status as the XR2i!!
Respect to those who mod their cars and are proud - BTW, that fiest interior would embarass any impreza interior I have ever seen!
Oh, I have a MY99 UK Turbo by the way!

Scooby Regular
In fact, just had a more detailed look at Dave's car and think it is very cool.
Love the detailing of the switchs around the TV, love the blue swirl in the doors - superb.
Just one question Dave - what happens if the PS2 breaks down - how do you get at it?

erm........ nice
it's got one of those 165 chips......
you know the ones, they make good use of the RS-Multiplier.
It is supposed to give 165bhp but RS cars have special things that multiply this by a factor of three.
this should work out around 495bhp at the crank.
then add a few stickers, a Baseball-cap and a FLAMER KIT and this thing should easily see 530bhp

IMHO we all need to repect what people do and like. 'Kin shed owner has loads of money and time making a car that is individual, surely that it the point of modifying a car (as well as making it better in your opinion). At 17 when i bought my si i could not afford to buy or insure a scooby so i got the fiesta cos it was the best i could afford. I then modded it and no-one else has one like it! If i had the money to buy an impreza it would be great, but i would buy a pulsar cos in my opinion they are rarer and better. Just my opinion mind you.

LOL @ ianc! impressive! i was gonna muppetize mine but the insurance company won't let me. so now it's just a bogstandard street sleeper with a fancy radio and a big chrome Citroen badge on the back (that's the only muppetized bit )

one of ur people has hit the nail on the head hes done his car up because thats the way he wants it not 2 impress any one else but because he wants it that way and he knows he might lose out quite insulting other peoples cars ever thought dave has done it for him self and not for u. a lot of people take the **** out of my car and even ill admit its currently a multi coloured shed but some of my mate have the for thought 2 think about what it will b like when finished and not just say its a shed

capriFRSTmania, lol, I did the opposite and debadged it....
They can be a bugger to do much with, and that rear arch on the 5dr is a pain when running 16"s, needs pulling out.
I think mine had a bump in it's former life, bonnet kept trying to lift at speed, so I put red alloy bonnet pins on it.
The sliding rear seat is great tho, I slid mine as far forward as possible (no legroom for rear passengers!) and filled the boot with a sub-box that will make a suitable coffin one day, it's still in my garage!
Looking back I laugh at it, it was a bit max power, but doing something "different" on a limited budget is part of growing up as a car nut, a rite of passage as it were, and those that put up with "a good car" then spending 20k on their first performance car have missed out, 'cos we were enjoying driving and modifying our "sheds" while they were waiting.
