Unlikely to arrive before 9.45 due to getting the kids up/ready etc.and awful journey from Eastbourne. Is this going to be too late for the stand stuff I am bringing?

If you head into Whiteley from Jct 9 M27 and turn left 1st r'bout then right at the 2nd there is a pub/hotel with a big car park and could all meet there? What time as we live 1min from that point!

When we met Alan at junc 9 he was parked in the road that is next to the slip road and we carried straight on back to the motorway without stopping.
I need to be signed on by 8:30 so the least time waiting for straggler's the better.
If we say we will leave junc 9 at 7:45 and if you are a bit late then catch us up.

Sorry to be a pain but I have quite a lot to do before I get on the track.

Fine with me - just to be annoying - is that the slip from coming off onto Junc 9 from the west, or the slip road going back on to the M27 heading east?

The road is next to the exit as you go off the M27 not as you come back on to it.

For refernce, as you turn into Goodwood you will see the tunnel under the track that you need to go through straight ahead, you will also be confronted by a Marshal (well that's the plan anyway!). It would be helpfull, should the aloted paddock area's start to over flow, that the marshal is alerted so that any other cars are directed to the public car park.

I didn't think this was really going to be a problem - but looking at the number of mails I guess its possble!!!

In reality there is quite a bit of space so should not be an issue.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday, won't mention the weather forcast I saw this evening, don't want to temp fate!!

So we meeting in the "Solent Hotel" car park 07.45 then? It is very close to jct 9 without being parked at a busy junction!

Mm, I was thinking about this last night (sad eh?), might be with Tim on this one...just 'cos I think there's going to be quite a few of us (at least 4?) and sitting in a layby waiting for you lot to come past could be quite dangerous (knowing how much attention even 2 scoobs together generates - wouldn't want to distract the other drivers). If the hotel's only 2 minutes away and we were waiting with "engines running" at 7.45 we could easily make up the time?

...but I'll leave you two to fight it out

Hi guys

I'm going to try and make it down on Saturday, will be the first car related outing with my Scoob. I can't see me making it to Whitley for 7.45 so I will come and have a look in the paddock when I arrive.

The Solent Hotel @ Whitely is seconds from the motorway so I think it would be a good idea to meet there - I have been moved on by the boys in blue whilst waiting for a mate on the top of junction 9 - so will be at the hotel for about 0735 for a PROMPT get away at 0745 with Paul and Steve
At this time in the morning the A27 should be reasonable for decent drive - now I just need to ask Mark to wash the scoob.....

Bondy - Come and say hi, we're usually standing around looking dodgy so we shouldn't be too hard to spot (I'm aiming to get a picture of the Hants lot to help out those who don't know what we look like, but that'll be after Sat... )

Sounds good for the hotel, I'll be there with my duvet and pillows as I will be impossible to part from them at that time on a Sat morning!

As far as I know re: Parade Lap, this will be happening sometime around lunchtime (when all the guys on track take a break) and will be a slow lap around Goodwood, prehaps taking some of the kids and families (who didn't want to be whipped around at warp speed!) with you So I shouldn't imagine lids were needed...although it might be best for Robin to confirm that one! I think the idea of the day was to keep things pretty fluid time wise, to allow for weather or any other eventualities, sorry I can't be more specific, the e-mail with the details in is at home I'll post any other info later if one of the other guys don't pick it up...

Just picked up this thread......Who gets to drive around the track?
Is it like a track day? or just a parade style thing for the viewers/riders? Is it too late to offer my services as either fast track driver? (STi4) or alternatively as Joy-ride pilot (I'll bring the plane if I cant get on the track).

It's a track day essentially, booked through Easytrack (not sure when the deadlines are...sorry!) however there's a parade lap either side of lunchtimeish which is 12 - 1pm which is a slow drive around with some of the kids maybe? I think things are being kept pretty fluid timewise to allow for different things...

It's a track day organised by Easytrack. I don't know any more than that, but Robin or Paul should be able to fill you in on the details. Could always check the easytrack web site too to see if you can still book.

I have just had a look on the EasyTrack site and the track day is showing as fully booked with 8 provisionals.
