Unhappy

Very Strange. EXACTLY the same thing happened to me last saturday, car full of people, neighbour's car on pavement, backed straight into his door. You feel a right pratt don't you? Luckily I wasn't in the scoob, but in the wife's company car, which is going back shortly. Hence, no worries on the insurance front. If it was my insurance i would have paid up cash though. Usually cheaper!

Coupla things:

1. Yes, maybe you can get a parking ticket for parking with 2 wheels on the pavement. Doesn't affect the legality of your negligence, OM - sorry! If he wasn't in the car, how can he have been contributorily negligent when he'd been parking there for ages. Solely your fault I'm afraid.

2. I'd go through insurance - if your neighbour's a complete dick then he may well bump the price up - go through insurers and he'll be stuck using an 'Approved Repairer' - who will take 3 attempts to fix his car, treat him like sh1te, and amuse you thoroughly!

As an aside, a mate of mine got a parking ticket for parking outside his own house overnight facing the wrong way. Doubt anyone would have been able to argue it was his fault if they drove into his parked car though.

O.M.

No offence was meant mate. My comment should have had a little ;-) , but I'm no good at getting them to come up. We've all done something similar in the past, just been lucky to get away with a lot less damage.

I would still mention the parked on pavement bit. It's a statement of fact nothing more nothing less. No different to driving into a car parked the wrong way at night.
