u got 25Ibs more torqe than nobles then RB! (same spec)4 weeks ago? what rr did u use scoobyboy? i got 288bhp/250Ibs at nobles full hks decat +itg panel filter+uprated fuel pump,(P1)!!!

Had a P1 before the Evo...
Only a few mods, Uprated fuel pump, full decat exhaust & an Link Ecu
We estimated around 330bhp out of it, if I wanted to go further a bigger turbo was required, plus a FMIC would have been needed.
Still - was a hell of a lot more fun than it was standard
Oh - it also spat flames on the overrun

its a afterburner exhuast i got from scoobyworld. iv just logged on 2 the site 4 the figues. 18bhp 4 the centre & the back box. i got the figue wrong 4 the full system sorry. 30bhp 4 the full system! i thought it said 30 just from the dp so i added 18+30 to get 48bhp sorry. but still 280bhp (stardard p1) + 18bhp = 298bhp. thats not been tested yet tho (rollin road). my car does feel faster tho so there must b a improvement sumwere. sorry lads ill just go & sulk sumwere now.

I would argue that a full cat-less system and induction kit will give you maximum 10-20bhp if you are lucky.
Best thing to do is stick your car on the rollers prior to doing anything. Most std. cars make over standard figures. consider this example.
MY99 UK turbo should make 215bhp and approx 210lb/ft torque
on most rollers would say such a car would have approx 235bhp and 220(ish)lb/ft of torque.
So you go fit your shiney new exhaust and filter and go back.
Magically the car now has approx 244bhp and 227lb/ft.
I think when 'some' suppliers quote power increases they quote an increase over book/manufacturer figures. So in the above example you've actually gained 9bhp and 7lb/ft of torque...still pretty good for < £600.
The best gains however from such modifications are responsiveness, and improved torque lower down in the rev range and an increased willingness to pull to the redline as there are less restrictions in the system (i.e. CATS) which means the exhaust can clear more gas.
Years ago on scoobynet it was suggested that a 'test' car be taken to the rollers and fitted back-to-back with different systems etc to get an idea of the gains (the logistics of this are obviously horrible). This would still be interesting experiment.
