Still the Daddy.

Hi Adrian, Yes I rememeber you.
If I rememeber, you sold your car because you were about to become a dad? I hope things are well with you and you don't miss the 'Grale too much. :-O
I haven't come on here to slag off Scoobies, just to inform people that the Integrale can still win major rallying events against newer and 'better' machinery.
Cheers!

Thats right Huggy - had a daughter now 8 months, fantastic.
I do miss the 'grale - saw a burgundy evo 1 with for sale on it parked up in Blackheath last week and the old feelings started to come back, I had to tell myself "No dont even think about it!"
Hope everythings fine with you - how much power has yours got now??

Adrian,
As you know, mine has had over 320bhp - 330lbft for years now. Since I last saw you I have fitted some 356mm AP brakes and some Bilstien suspension and my driving has improved a little too. In May I met a guy called "Trout" with a Scooby at the MLR day Castle Coombe, suffice to say he was impressed.

I've seen Huggy's Evo at Castle Combe on the MLR day during the summer, and I imagine Simon Norris in his 580bhp Mitsubishi Evo 5 (as on Driven last week) wasn't too happy when Huggy continually set faster lap times.
Despite there being a considerable number of other Mitsubishi's and Subaru's there, only 1 "road car" was quicker all day than Huggy, a Mitsubishi Evo 5. What's interesting is that the Mistubishi was tuned by a company called Prestocar who............. specialise in tuning Lancias.
edit - Imagine my surprise at the RAC last year when, parked at one of the stages, I noticed that every 3rd car was a Subaru with gold wheels. There's little or no exclusivety with a Subaru, and absolutely no panache or cache at all.

hi all
regarding integrale reliability, there are several myths around.
i have known many people using delta integrale as everyday drive and it wasnt less reliable than the usual family car.
the problem with Integrale reliability IMO comes from:
a) many people COSTANTLY drive it like there is no tomorrow. give a car, ANY car to your teenage son (who will probably drive it in the same fashion) and i am sure it will break down very soon.
b) homemade tuning solutions. i have seen many delta with tuning solutions that would make fail even the engine of a panzer. my EVO never gave me any problem at all in 30.000km
find an integrale that havent been tweaked one time or another, if u can
c) age of the car. well, lets see how a subaru or mitsi or any car for what it matters will look and feel after 10 years of constant hammering
for sure the bodyshell could be much better than it is originally.
also, lowering the car and fitting rock hard suspension setup doesnt help..
i think that the integrale engine is very reliable, if treated with a minimum of care.

Awsome cars. The only AWD car i would consider buying tbh.
The only problem I have is LHD (I know I would get used to it but I just dont like it as a concept.) and the fact that I cannot afford one!
astraboy.
P.S. I can personally vouch for the fact that Paul Palmer's car is an abosolute animal.
P.P.S. Huggy, your one is especially nice. Yellow. Yummy.

Mr Paul Palmer
it is I, Jim from top of hill outside of Marlow. Got a mate who does Auto Electro components (his own business) and can get alternators, starter motors etc refurbished cheaper than most (some he can do himself), are you interested in me making some enquiries. Give me the spec of your alternator, general symptons etc and i will try and do the rest. You then do not have an excuse from stopping me seeing the thing after all this time
Cheers

Crono,
I think there's a difference between reliability and build quaility. On my '92 Evo1 I couldnt fault the engine/transmission, it was the rest of the car that was the problem- side skirt fell off, paint defects, rust!, interior trim fell off, faulty electrics & rattles gallore! add to that the unwanted attention from the law (probably due it being red) & every Nova on the road, it just became tiresome, plus it doesnt help when there was/is? noone in the midlands who I could trust to service/repair it.
Admittedly Evo2's are undoubtably better built, but I guarantee its not in the same league as my 8 year old Toyota, then again I doubt a 7/8 year old Subaru/ Mitsu would be either
Saying that, If I lived opposite Walkers/Whalley's/Bazza's then I might have been tempted by a Perlato

Georgeous cars
Saw a green one a few months back (K reg) on the M6, first ive seen in a loooooooooong time, excellent nick but due to its exclusivity i wouldnt buy one (lancia no longer exist in the uk) and i think that id be a bit stuffed trying to find many speciallists in the uk due to the small number of surviving lancia's.

Tony,
You would have no dificulty finding a specialist there are loads all over the country. And don't forget if all else failed you could possibly go to a fiat garage(which most lancia main dealers changed into when lancia pulled out in 94).
If i want my car serviced i can take it anywhere oil plugs etc.Same as a jap car ,but for performance mods you must be prepared to travel i wouldn't take my car anywhere without recomendation so if i had to travel so be it whether it is italian of jap.
My mate has a scoob and takes it up north to d.p. motorsport other guy took his mitsi there also they both live on the in the south.
