Well, the fact that I took my driving lessons (1974)in a

Hillman Imp (and I did laff at Trax for those who saw one going round, just)

Bought a 1966 Bond Equipe Coupe (Triumph Herald chassis and doors, with a fibreglass body)- jus'the biz

progressed to 1970 Vauxhall Viva HB which was stolen and burntout in some woods in Maidstone in 1981,

got a 1975 Mk3 Cortina,

then a 1979 Fiat Strada,

followed by a brand new B reg Fiat Uno SX,

then needed a bigger car: Vauxhall Belmont 1.8 GLSi,1986 plate,

and a bigger Vauxhall Carlton CDXi (1990 plate)(automatic),

and now the MY93 WRX

My small list in comparison to most, i have had my current car much longer than any of the others. It is the dogs danglies.

Rover 111i (96-97) (1st Car - Free Insurance

Clio 16V (97-98) (Very unreliable and gave back to the garage, and got a full refund)

Rover 216si (98-99)(My starting point big wheels, and lowered to the floor)

Rover 218is (17" Wheels, £3000 ICE, Big Zorst etc) My Max power moment in life. (99-00)

Ford Ka (2nd Car to CTR)

Civic Type R (00 -Present)

Next either R34 or Orange Exige in about 4 years when i become 30, and will get a sensible insurance quote.

Passed test in 91, aged 17...
1991 - 1994 Vauxhall Cavalier SRi, bought it cheap, discovered it had been written off previously. Proceeded to write it off again myself , bought it back off the insurance company, put a new front end on it, sold it!
1994 - 1996 Vauxhall Astra GTE, killed by blind biddy in a lada!
1996 - 1997 Vauxhall Nova SRi, this one survived
1997 - 1999 Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 16v
1999 - ???? Subaru Impreza WRX, bought just before the import market went down the toilet, cost nearly £16k, now worth about £9k - Doh! Never mind, it's very fast
What next? Hmmm, I'll have a budget of about £17k, so either R33 Skyline GTR, STi 5 type R, or Evo 5... decisions, decisions...

A lot of mini's and metro's in those lists

Mine goes like this (start in 1990)
Y-reg Morris Ital 1.3SL estate (got to start somewhere)
E-reg Austin Montego 1.6L (another good canoe-lugger, but I wrote it off)
W-reg Golf Mk1 1.5 (bag o'sh1te!)
H-reg Rover 416GSi (actually quite liked this 'un)
R-reg Scooby 5-door

I'm selling soon due to too much attentionn from crims, so what next? Is this my change for Mini ownership?

Hmm...

Well in not very many years (since '97)-
Citroen Ax GT (loads of fun, and you could pull a different bit of trim of each day! Grey)
Peugeot 309 GTi (loads of engine mods - 165+bhp, kinda odd metallic red, never seen any other car that colour!)
Citroen Ax GT (as above but red, 309 was costing loads, needed something cheap!)
Peugoet 405 1.9 GRi (hmm, ok handling for a family car, Grey!)
Nissan Primera 2.0 GSi (tidy handling, quicker than you'd think, White)
(Briefly) Citroen ZX Diesel (Facelift model, Bought it for my missus (who still has it), ending up driving it for a month or so! Sharp handling, too slow. Metallic Blue)
(Briefly) Skoda Favorit Forum Plus (cheaper than a hire car for 2 weeks, and some fun too, still got it outside, no radiator anymore though, Blueygreen)
Citroen Xsara 2.0 VTS (underated, quick and good handling, ride v. hard though, Blue)
Subaru Impreza WRX (Jap spec, nice car, good handling, too slow now, the skyline fund is growing! Red)

Can't resist threads like this

1937 Riley monaco (cost £25)

1937 Ford Y Type (given me by a mate)

1937 Morris 8 (cost £12 10 shillings - there was also a reconditioned MG TC for £180 but I did not have that much!)

NSU "Quickly" Moped (just got married for the first time)

195x Citroen ID19 (second best car I've ever owned)

K reg Renault 12 (without doubt the WORST car I have driven EVER)

R reg Volvo 245 DL

Y reg Volvo 245 GLT (bloody nice car)

E reg Volvo 740 estate (bloody boring car that would just not ear out, even at 250,000 had original exhaust system even)

G reg Range Rover (you could take it and the family anywhere and we did)

V reg Turbo (without doubt, the best car I have ever owned or driven)

not countng other cars I used such as my Mother's Mini vans.

My father's list makes much more interesting reading - Lagondas, Bentleys, etc.
