the REVERENT HARDING SAYS
those pictures show what can go wrong (and did) thank god he got out in one piece .
please can you ensure you all drive carefully on the RAID to your own ability , if you feel the pace is too hot, relax to it to your own comfortable speed i do not want anything like this to happen on the RAID we have 4 catch up points and noone will be left behind!!!
thanks (end of sermon for today)
what is your feelings on groups ? i thought maybe the fast should set off first before the next group by say 5-7 minutes as each check point is aprox 25 minutes so as the faster +screw loose groups catch up the fast (slow) !! can set off again
your comments are invited
(i think rusty wants me to organise a european raid !! next)

I agree, I would set leave at 10 minute intervals in groups of 5 or 6 cars. On MTR'rs NM7 the cars just got bunched up and spoiled the run for me.
Those who consider themselves to be fast should set off first so we can take pictures of their write offs

i'd just like to put forward a little note in my defence, just incase those who don't know me think i drive like a lunatic
the accident occured on the first corner after leaving a village that had been driven through at a sedate pace, with over hanging trees and the first rainfall in two weeks on a "notorious stretch of road" (scottish/borders policeman's words).
I'm still to this day not totally sure how or why, but the back end of the car just snapped away, extremely violently( just ask Jas in the Evo 7 who was dodging fence posts)
Cold tyres, heavy right foot, greasy road, excessive speed (but not by much truthfully) but who really knows, the results were, well you can all see.
I have been on a few MEETS and we all go out to enjoy the roads in our superb cars, I'M SURE THIS WILL BE THE CASE THIS TIME
p.s. anyone free to navigate

We always run groups of 4, 5 max, with the fastest nutters at the front and the slowest at the back and about 5 inutes between groups.
They do not always finish that way round though! I trust you have heard of the Tortoise & the Hare?
If you do catch up another group just slow down or stop somewhere safe to admire the scenary for a couple of mins
Not sure if I am gonna make it up for this one, we have a Derby meet on the same day

I aim to be coming up for the karting then staying overnight somewhere (prob youth hostel) to go on the raid on Sunday.
I need to book my car in first to get the geometry checked due to my incident on the wales camping trip. Is there anywhere rocommended in Edinburgh who can do it (with laser equipment). I will try to get in TSL but I doubt they can accomodate me. Due to the tyre blowout I need to buy 2 tyres and get them fitted(yes I know I should get 4 but I cannot afford it) or take a chance on my 2mm tread set of tyres.
Charlie Whiskey which group sould I go on, the phsycho nutters, the insanely fast, fast or normal?

Slider: to be honest I would put you in group II or III
I respect your driving but think you should be out somewhere in front Anyway you are better at navigating than some in group I
I'm sure you know what I mean, I do like to know who I am dealing with when it comes to groupings. If a group turn up together then by all means let them drive together as they will probably know each other better.
I think the trying to mix cars & groups up is a BAD idea!
