Try the new BBS software
#31
So keen to test it I didn't read all of the posts here and have posted bug reports on the new BBS that are already mentioned here.
Thing that hasn't been mentioned here is the swear word filter isn't applied to topic titles. As you can't edit them, a typo could be mighty embarrassing. Also could be open to abuse. BTW, anyone from S****horpe might be annoyed their town falls victim to the filter...
My feedback (bear in mind as a web developer I might be a bit over critical )
The grey bar/text to the right of the Scoobynet logo seems slightly misaligned to the right. At the far right hand side is a small grey square that looks out of place.
Not too keen on the black background used for the top line with the URLs. Seems to clash with the banners underneath which also have a mostly black colour. Gives a slightly cluttered look.
For my statistics, I get the following (!)
Posts
Technical Forums 0
General Forums 10
Muppet Show 4
Other -4
Total Posts 10
How I posted -4 in the other forums I'm not sure.
The spell check button on the reply page seems to be missing - if intentional, why? Plenty of people here need this feature, me inlcuded.
Other than those minor points, it's looking pretty good. My biggest issue of the reply text box being widened has been addressed as well!

Sorry don't like it.
It wouldn't work for me.
It seems very much like the SIDC board & i'm not keen on that either.
Sorry but you did ask.

Hi All
Thanks for giving it a thrashing. And especially thanks to those that found bugs, etc. I'll get onto them later in the week.
Post counts, WILL be fine once we change over as all of the threads, etc from this board will be carried over.
Ian
You don't have to apologise for not liking it. Could you let me know why though, as it is almost identical to this board, the only difference being the addition of a few links / features.
It is absolutely nothing like the SIDC board as far as I can tell.
If you tell me what you don't like, we might be able to do something about it.
All the best
Simon

first of all I clicked profile. Tried to log in but put in an incorrect password. Got this:
error '80020009'
Exception occurred.
/bbs/editprofile.asp, line 35
Then logged in ok and tried to submit some profile changes. First time got this;
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
Query-based delete failed because the row to delete could not be found.
/bbs/updateprofile.asp, line 109
second time it worked.
BTW - This is on a Mac running IE5
