Does CJ stand for county judge ?

I know a couple of magistrates and their collective advice says - whatever the speed / nature of offence always turn up in court in your best suit. Always be prepared to eat a huge portion of humble pie. A few minutes of severe brown nosing and self humbling goes a long way. Be prepared to look like a quivering wreck at the thought of an extra few points on your licence - it might just make that difference.

Chopper,

but you are talking over double the limit which is worse percentage wise than 109mph in a 70 for example..

I did similar.. got a NIP for 60 in a 30mph zone.. I thought it was 50mph... it came through after the 14days more like 3months but I thought 60 in a 30 jeeze... I'll take the 3points and 40pound fine and keep quiet! I thought it was a long time after the incident but was not aware of the 14days NIP at the time..
but I dunno if I would have faught it anyway as I admit I was speeding.

Mine was a few years ago now, they are very hot on the 30mph limits now.. probably understandable.. I try and stick to the numbered limits although it is difficult when I feel the road should be more than it is...

Yeah, fair point jgm. Double the limit is a bit of a no go area and I suppose I was lucky to keep my license (it was nearly 4 years ago mind you). Genuine mistake though which is why I was a bit miffed. Unclear and unneccessary temporary speed limit. Grrr!

Needless to say I went out and bought a radar detector shortly afterwards and it has made me a much 'cough' safer driver as a result

Sorry, mate, you're quite right, all endorsements count for the purposes of totting up. So no chance of hiding any motoring convictions

Suit or not, my advice would be to get a fixed penalty if you can and avoid court altogether.
