Agree with you on all that except for the cost
Admittedly cheaper than current London prices now, but as I was a builder then in S Wales, it cost me the equivalent of several local houses for a season. Fortunately you could buy a "nice" little terraced house in the Valleys for about 4K then, tart it up and bang it out to a grateful public on a regular basis. Still, glad I did it when I could. BDA's were great engines but they needed looking after.
