Im gonna have to bail on this due to other financial necessities this month and next. Would like to say I might still be in but would rather say no now than pull out at the last minute. If you get to 9 or something and need the one more then I might be able to help you reach the magic ten. I'll keep checking this thread anyhow.

Simon.

Question

Whats happening with the spoilers ?

I have just read through the thread and wondering what the score is now ? I am interested in a new rear spoiler but they do seem very expensive. I have been considering the later style high level one(cos of price), but feel if its worth doing then do it properly.

Has any one on the list got a David Reid motorsport spoiler? If so, what quality are they ?

I thought that someone was going to ask TSL how much they would do a group buy on around 5 items for? it may take a few months to hit 10, especially since some people can afford one now but cant in a month, i've got car insurance (gulp) coming up in a month so i might even pull out.

uhf;this group buy has only been going a week or so,they normally last a lot longer, there was talk of asking tsl about 5 people but 5 is not really a group buy is it,and they have already said that the prices would go up for less people, lets give it till the end of this week then discus what we are going to do and as for i wont have the money next month just save it carnt be that hard can it?

uhf you could always send it to me and i will look after it for you in beer tokens,he.he dont bail out yet mate we are the nearest we have been if we can convert the possibles in to definates we are virtually there then we can speek to tsl again,i know its frustrating waiting believe me my motors in the body shop on monday so i want to get this sorted as well,if everyone in this group buy tried to get friends relatives etc in on it we should have no problems, cheers rob

Me know the feeling, my bodyshop guy goes on holiday for 3 weeks next week might even have to upgrade my order to painting too! btw, will the standard bolts do the trick or should the middle part be stuck down too?

uhf its easy mate the four bolts should be fine but have spoken to a few people and just get some body adhesive or sickoflex from your locall car paint supplier ie brown brothers and aply a bit to the underside of the spoiler and a bit around the bolt holes to stop any potential leaks and pop on to the boot and do up the bolts ,done and dusted.

Phew! Im finally back on line and can post...

Ok, its been a busy few days - cheers to Rob as Caretaker Manager in my absence!

Right so where are we...

we need 10 definates so this is the current list,

Definates
---------
Jonw - spoiler, painted (DBM)
WRXRob - spoiler & carriage
UHF - spoiler & carriage
GwrxM - spoiler & carriage
Michael Robinson - spoiler painted & carriage to iom,
hawk - spoiler & carriage

Possibles;
----------
Watfordhorn - Are you in mate?,
Stuart Fleckney
p1fanatic, who may be in later...

So we have 6 who defo want one and im sure this list will grow over the next few days.

As this group buy has only been going a week now (and most go on far longer) I propose we hold open until the end of the weekend and then I will call TSL on Monday to see what's what. I hope this works for everyone.

I'm really suprised that there has been such a slow uptake as these units are really nice spoilers and at only 255 delivered ready to be painted they are far cheaper than lots of others...

C'mon guys we only need a few more and were there!

Jon.

Forgot to do a round up of questions:

P1Fanatic - you'll kick yourself if you miss out on this... ;-p

TimW - Ive not heard from you...

Michael Robinson - The way this should work is that once we reach the magic 10 I will email TSL with all our orders and when you ring up they will verify you against that usnig your Scoobynet name to get you the discounted price.

Tone Loc - Are you in?

WatfordHorn - Are you in?

Jon.

Jon, I'm tempted, but I'm not going to use this spoiler, I want to have an adjustable wing because I want to play with down force, not looks

If I bought one it would be to hack up, and if that's the case I'd rather pick up a genuine one that's been damaged (like someone has tried to rip the top walf wing off) to play with.

Sorry

Question

Hi Jon,
I have just read the thread about this group buy. I am looking for a spoiler, but I want a replica of the one used on Burnsey's 2000 WRC.I'm not sure if Prodrive do one- anyone know?
If this is similar looks like it is (but i'll probably be corrected) would TSL refrain from putting their monica on it if asked not to?

Let me know about the above please

Cheers mate
Rasher...

Rasher - Prodrive do do a spoiler in their WRSport range but its hellishly expensive and ive read recently that the units tend to split. I also dont think the unit is very much like the WRC item but without seeing pictures of them i wouldnt know.

The STi 5 unit is nice and big (12" IIRC) and apes the WRC cars. The STi 5 is a 99/00 model so I guess the spoiler has similar looks to the WRC unit of those years whilst being road legel etc.

The Stickers on Gridlock Mikey's car are extras, normally teh spoiler is deviod of any TSL notation and is very close to the original STi 5 unit, ie smooth and clean lines.

Let me know if youre in, Jon.

What's the total price again, for Spoiler, painting ,P&P and including VAT? Can they really pack them that well so as not to damage the paint during transit.(I'm a fussy buggar)
Also what sort of delivery time are we looking at once the order has been placed?
Lastly does it come with all the fittings and any type of sealant that you need? What do TSL use?
Cheers Rasher..
