That doesn't sound right to me!! You'd lose your no Claims Bonus wouldn't you. They will have a blanket company policy to cover all their company vehicles & as far as I am aware are not subject to the usual bollocks that us ordinary punters have to suffer when making claims or loss of NCB.

Could see it if you paid the bill then gave them the invoice to be refunded either directly or through their insurance but again don't really see the point of this?

Maybe their insurance would inssit on selecting the repairer & you might end up somewhere like I did & get a crap job done on your pride & joy when it wasn't your fault that it was damaged.

With comprehensive insurance you can get the repair done on your own policy, pay the excess, and then your insurers will claim off the other insurers. Once they get their money back, you also get your excess and NCD returned to you.

OK, but it sounds overly complicated that way. When my Dad hit my car, I didn't have to do a thing other than give him a couple of quotes.

His insurance did the rest; no fuss at all. I'll see what my insurers say tomorrow.

Thanks guys,
Stefan

Talking

LOL @ Dave,

Yeah tell me about it. Only affects the males and stationary cars though Avoid Lanarkshire at all costs m8

I dug out my old estimate from when the front door got replaced. It only cost £160 labour, £75 paint/materials and £250 parts.

That's £400 cheaper only 18mths ago; talk about inflation
