Rutland Water Run
I know I've been f'in useless of late but there is a possibility that I will be able to make this! Don't hold breath but see what I can arrange.
I can certainly do Fen Ditton meets ATM

Puff, we all look forward to seeing you this Sunday
Stan unfortunately won't be coming in his 400hp monster as he's still running it in! It's sounds like it is going to be an awsome motor...
The meeting will start at around 11.30 at the Brewers Fayre, Brampton Hut. The pub has a large restaurant for those who want to eat, and a large car park for those who want to "kick tyres"
The run will start around 1 - 1.30 (the food service should be quicker than last time).

Hmm tempting but made plans to go around to see the missus as she is cooking me a sunday roast
Deffo up for the next Plough meet. Went there a couple of weeks ago and can see why you pick it. Must be really nice next to the river in summer when there is more light.

It was just under £350 (ouch) all in, and although it's early days yet I would thoroughly recommend it.
As for technically what was done, there are much more knowledgeable people on here (try the suspension section) who will be able to explain it better.
What I do know is how it changes the handling. You can now really boot it out of corners and it stays very flat. I remember that it used to lift up at the front and would understeer as the grip was lost at the front.
The bumpsteer removal reduces the amount the front wheels try to toe-out under braking and it's definitely sharpened the turn-in.

PS Forgot to say - see you all tomorrow!

Dear All,
Its looking as if I'm not going to be able to make it along tomorrow, I have too much work to get done - I'm at work now!
I hope everyone has enjoyable and safe run to Rutland,
See you in Fen Ditton soon,
Ben.
P.S. Is someone taking a camera so I can see what I'm missing out on?

Thanks Grahame - see you in October
Its getting to crunch time for me with the PhD - I'm just about to go into my final year and am trying to get as much together as possible for a meeting with my sponsor this week
and in a fortnight, and then submission of a paper in Novemeber for a conference in December
Let no-one say that students have it easy! Believe me!
Also, the Sport has developed the usual cracked heat shield/loose crimp and is making a right racket! I've done far too many miles in her over the past month or so!
She'll be in for a service next month.
Enjoy tomorrow folks!
Ben.

Doh! Couldn't come
Checking the car over the day before I found my rear brakes were shot! I couldn't get replacements in time. Really pissed that I couldn't make it. Hope you all had a good day.

Disappointed I couldn't join in. I'd have much rather been on the "run" than spending the day with in-laws - even though I'd have had to crawl round. (800 miles - starting to give it some welly !!
)
Hopefully gear set will arrive from Aussie this week so gearbox/diff can be sorted + rest of engine bits + remap (+ possibly suspension) next week.
Looking forward to getting back (!!?) into circulation with a car that is more fun to drive than at present.

Thanks to Grahame and Roy for organising Sunday.
Following an iffy start (I blame my navigator!!!) our convoy made good progress through the peaceful countryside ;-) passing one lucky pheasant and a not so lucky rat, being held up by that pesky Matalan lorry, and almost managing to stay together for the whole of both stages.
We (me, Tom and Jon) all had a great time - there were some fantastic roads along the route and I can't wait for the next one!
See everyone at the next Cambridge meet next month.

Hi all,
Glad that everyone had a great time, I think that most of the credit should go to Grahame though. Sorry if I didn't have time to say hello, or shot off without saying goodbye, nothing personal I just had to get back to blummin work
Grahame
Top organising as usual, (I'm gonna start having a look at the maps for new ideas soon) Stage 2 was excelent
I must admit my timing was spot on catching you leaving the services like that
see you all at the next meet hopefully.
Cheers all, Roy.
