*** KNOCKHILL - BARGAIN TRACK EVENT THIS SATURDAY ***
#31
In the wet I don't think this car's tyres managed to grip once from entering Duffas to exiting Clarks!! Saw it going sideways on the verge and through grass and it still stayed on track. (more than I managed too!!) Suberb watching it from a safe distance behind. Ended up getting by it in case I had to brake to miss it.

i wasn't too impressed as it was my first time so i thought i would take it easy but had everyone trying to pass me as close as possible and then the p1 behind me went sideways so i could not break in time for the corner as he would have gone in the back of me so i ended up going off.the only good driver as far as i could see was the evo driver who slowed to let me back on the track

Martin,
Remember this was NOT an SIDC organised event, John only mentioned
it was available incase any1 fancied it For a first outting I can highly recommend the SIDC organised events at Knockhill. At the SIDC events all drivers are well behaved with few exceptions (and any1 making exception is dealt with) courtesy to other drivers is extended and a good mix of powerfull cars turn up. There are also some unwritten rules every1 sticks to re overtaking. Hope this evnt hasn`t put u off attending some of the future organised events
C u soon

If this had been my first event then I don't think I would have enjoyed it so much. My other Knockhill outings have been SIDC or Lotus events and as such were easier to cope with. Today, I tended to end up near the front and was out of the way of most. Still had to work hard to keep up the pace, but did move over and let cars by now and again, actually is quite boring not having anything infront of you. Once I was near the back and did try to move further forward in the pack only to end up in the gravel at the Hairpin. Did not expect the slower driver to speed up as I was trying to pass as the track got narrower, but then the briefing did say don't change your position or slow down for anybody.
At SIDC events most people will move over more to let faster cars past. Get along to the SIDC track night on the 15th and I am sure you will enjoy that. The pace will be similar but you will not feel so pressurised.
The track was nearly empty from around 4:30 onwards today and I really enjoyed playing about with different linbes etc until I got kicked off at 5;45pm. I think its rare to get such an opportunity at Knockhill and therefore really felt today was worthwhile.
Cheers Iain

It was mainly dry then !! It was raining here at midday and since I'm still drying out from the last K/hill day I thought I'd give it a miss. Seems like I missed out

So the only near incident was caused by a P1 driver who couldn't drive (!!surprise!!) nearly rear-ending another P1!!!!
C. Jay. k.
I thought that Scoobies were supposed to excel in wet and twisty conditions!! Or is that simply a mis-conception spread by everyone who now thinks that they can drive because they have a rally-derived 4WD Turbo??
Bogie,
If you could actually drive you wouldn't be bothered by any 'fanny racers' as you call them - Maybe you had to hurry home + polish your car again....
