Unhappy

my father has had the new AMG Kompressor for a few months now and proved recently that in a straight line it leaves my MY00 for dead, no competition what so ever. Obviously a twisty road may be different story.

Personally I prefer the 'raw'ness of the Scoob but then again I'm 30 not 55!

Twisties...yawn yawn yawn. Same old same old, if only and in these circumstances with blue pants on then Scoob is better blah blah blah. Its safe to say that on the whole you get what you pay for, OK agreed that law of diminishing returns applys in the case of Hi-Fi, Cars and ladies but pay 20 grand you get a 20 grand car, pay 80 you get 80 grands worth. A Scoob is a nice car but its not an CLK AMG.

Regards
Cammy

Cool

was watching motors tv the other night, and they did a road test on one of these amg thingys.i'm not familiar with mercs, but i think it was the latest amg cl/sl?? (had a folding metal hood and was huge)
IMHO, it looked the b0ll0cks, and sounded fantastic. had some huge engine in it. i would have one because it was one top fanny magnet
mind you, my mates got a clk, and he even says he's a berk in a merc

The new Mercs are very beautiful to look at - they've raised their game massively in that area, and the AMG performances are mighty.

Cue more "my modded Sbarru Pizza would be quicker...." posts...

Was passengered in a new E55 over the weekend. That is one hell of a car. Same supercharged 5.5 V8 as in the SL55, 480-odd BHP but looks like a 130bhp E200 Mid-range would ripple tarmac, and certainly give any rally-to-road car an embarrasing experiance in a straight line as a guy in an Escort Cosworth yesterday found out coming off a few roundabouts

hi gary
there is an absolute nutter near me with an 'E' - have been 'buzzed' by it twice now - I still see 5 or 6 SL 55s a day in/around wilmslow but just the one E class (thankfully judging by the rate of knots the lone one travels at) - still can't believe how many innocent looking types are piloting these manic mercs about the place - definitely the car to be seen in at the moment - cheshire set have abandoned the 911 in favour of the AMG - I am just jealous of course - thinking of using girlfriends little hatchback for daily commute as I am sick of being embarrassed by 2 ton missles through the airport tunnels ;-)

AMG Mercs are class- they are invariably driven by the worst kind of people in our society I'm afraid.

Leaving a BRDC evening at Silverstone a few weeks ago, my brother was flat out in his Boxster S (similar speed to most Scoobs) and Martin Brundle drove past him in his SL55 AMG like he was standing still. I know Brundle isn't a bad driver, but that car is seriously rapid.
