whoooops forgot to say Tesco's insurance said between 73 and 125 pounds increase in premium if under 20% increase of power. As the were uncertain of components Etc. of PPP yet
Nobody bought a UKSTi7 because of it's standard performance. I like many imagined the performance with PPP. And a great car would become a fantastic car or did I just want PPP for better fuel economy LOL

Paid my dealer £2000 or there abouts ordered on friday, will be here sometime in August, included fitting. i asked about there being a long wait as so many will be wanted by all us wannabe Makkinens, and he said as far as he understood it, one of the reasons for the delay in releasing the PPP was because prodrive were wanting to get in as many parts aspossibly so they could supply as many as possible, and they must know roughly how STI7 have been sold. Souinds like a fair point. Also he had no figures of torque or bhp, butt like most said he thinks it`ll be 300bhp. That doesnt matter to me just as long as it picks up quicker than it does at the moment.

VFM is in the eye of the beholder. If it goes like the development car, then IMHO its good value. If you're a tecchie, doubtless you can do better for less money and no warranty.... but being a tecchie, doing it'll be part of the fun
mccltd - My Insurance expected to be +12.5% and, yes, You've spoken to Tony too, clearly!!
Cheers,
Phil

When you sell the car with a PPP pack on it, does it get taken into account on the value by the dealer?
Also what is the difference between the Prodrive pack and what Litchfield were doing on their imports as I cannot find their specs anymore?

PPP always *should* be taken into account by a dealer (assuming some of them even know what it is ).
Difference between PPP and Litchfield performance bits are that PPP is authorised by IM

Dave,
A rumour trail Email recieved the weekend said dealers should have, or will have by Friday, a PPP kit or kits already on site.(for thier Demo I assume
so maybe a try before you buy
So I rang my dealers( Listers) this morning they said everyone who has ordered or have taken an interest in PPP will be informed officially on Friday and release date is August
Tony
I can smell PPP

Dave T-S,
.....and in my view the PPP will probably add or not detract from resale value whereas anything else is more likely to soften the value of the car. PPP is just safer and more of a known and quantifiable modification.

I phoned my dealer this morning to be told that there was one ordered with my name on it!! I was on holiday last week and he couldn't get hold of me so he just ordered it
Should be delivered mid to late august. I can see me having to take a couple of days off work for its arrival.

Just ordered mine from my local dealer - due in August (do I go on Holiday first or wait 2 weeks?). Price <£2k including VAT!!!
My car is only 5 days old therefore subject to 4k rev limit until Thursday after next. Really pleased with the feel of the whole machine, much better engineered than my old MY00 turbo. Still learning how to change gear with the 6 speed box - don't always find the correct gear changing down. I have a black non-prodrive number - I must say it looks stunning and I even like the gold wheels with this colour. Also had Toyo's fitted free of charge this weeken by the dealer's tyre agent. Feels much smoother and more like the old fabled SO2's

There is a Prodrive engineer in South Africa for the launch of the New Forester. He brought a PPP kit with him for our STi's. They have it on the only STi demo in the country. Apparently consists of full turbo back exhaust, ECU, replacement restrictor. Extra 20kw , flatter boost curve from full boost to redline, better throttle response. Unfortunately they will be testing them first here for a month on crap 93RON which is the highest octane fuel in Johannesburg before they release them. In Cape Town we have 97RON but only get what works for the whole country!!! We had to sign an indemnity that if we drove to Johannesburg in our STi's and used there fuel and broke our engines Subaru South Africa wouldn't have to fix our engines!!

THIS IS NOT FAIR!!! There's no real tuning that can be done to the JDMSTi as no replacement ECU has been perfected yet.I'm going to end up with a car slower than you UK boyz!!!!!

My dealer said that subaru want a £1000 deposit for the STI PPP, and they dont even seem to be that specific about what it will be, or when available. I do want one ASAP but theres no way im handing over a grand now.

I think I will wait, Ive alreay spent a load this week on it. Ive had those horrible gold wheels recoated in anthracite, new springs ( - 35mm ) , and carbon repeaters. For £700 it looks like a new car ( Its a blue prodrive STI UK ) . I will get a photo when I get a chance.

What a rip off £2k for an extra 20bhp, and not to mention further increases in running costs. by a p1 and save ££££££££££££ after all I havre owned both and i belive the p1 is a better car.

There was also a report on another post( the one tested at PE ) that the B/Box was of a weird/ strange design
Deposit of a £1K for PPP It's only money, but then you'll only have to part with a £1K next month How much interest on £1K for 1 month 80 pence
You know you want it and the car needs it
All you need to do is find where your wife hides the money she syphons out of the house keeping and bingo it's free LOL
