ProperCharlie 19 July 2002 11:17 AM

Price, anyone?

Dave T-S 19 July 2002 12:08 PM

I can't say too much, but it might not quite be there yet...so don't get too excited....

But the price should be £1995 inc Vat.

Andrewza 19 July 2002 12:12 PM

Nooo, don't tempt me! ;)

Some figures other than the price would be good if anyone now has some official ones?

[Edited by Andrewza - 7/19/2002 12:13:50 PM]

Tang 19 July 2002 12:14 PM

Finally,

Price?
Power?
Torque?
Aonyone experienced it yet (other than at Prodrive)?

Cheers

Tang

Dave T-S 19 July 2002 12:20 PM

I just posted the price:)

I have the official power and torque figures, but am just trying to clarify if the dealers have them too, and if not I can't post them yet:(

Andrewza 19 July 2002 12:21 PM

Just whisper them very quietly then ;)

Mostly wondering what it will do to my already insane insurance :o

[Edited by Andrewza - 7/19/2002 12:22:08 PM]

TonyBurns 19 July 2002 12:33 PM

Dave are they expected power figures (this is a guess ;)) but 310bhp and 280lbs of torque?
or is it better? :D

Tony:D

mccltd 19 July 2002 12:36 PM

Just spoken with local dealer and he said it was £1698.87 Plus VAT, but doesn't know whether that includes fitting?
He is going to find out more for me,

Phil Harrison 19 July 2002 12:51 PM

1995.00 Fitting and VAT Inc was my quote. Didn't ask for performance figures. So far as I'm concerned, D T-S, it's legit - Dealer didn't speak of any "Ifs and Buts" in the IM notification!!

Regards

Phil

Jza 19 July 2002 12:57 PM

I hear the chink chink sound of all those piggy banks being emptied.....

Bet 10p you'll all pay deposits and then be told in 4 weeks or so..... "there has been a problem sourcing ECU's so you'll have to wait indefinately.."

Happened to us MY01 WRXers!!!

Good luck anyway and lets hope it a good-un!!

Jza

Tiggs 19 July 2002 01:01 PM

jza, it was a long time ago...let it be!

mccltd 19 July 2002 01:18 PM

Phil,,which garage did you ring??
I spoke with Walldonways in Maidstone.

Dave T-S 19 July 2002 01:21 PM

It won't happen the way the WRX ones did.

Yes, you can order one, and some dealers have the information but not others, but those that have may have been a bit premature in releasing the information.....according to one dealer that emailed me stock will not be available until next month.

The £1995 inc Vat figure I mentioned includes fitting.

Tony
You should know me by now - 1) My info is good, and 2) I do not post anything until I know it is releasable info;);)

mccltd 19 July 2002 01:28 PM

Does this mean the Scooby sport box has to go?
Will the replacement sound any better?

Whats involved, any1 know yet??

MAin question,, Will it be worth it?

Jza 19 July 2002 01:44 PM

"It won't happen the way the WRX ones did."

Yeh... and the Johova's said Poland would never get invaded by the Germans in WW2!!!!!

Only time will tell Dave........ :D

You may be the "Fountain of all Prodrive Knowledge" but even you must admit to not being able to see into the future............................................ .........

.................but you've probably got a contact who can right;)

Lets hope that (...for once ;)) IM/Prodrive sort their acts out and not piss everyone off like they did last time ;)

Jza

PSI3 19 July 2002 01:48 PM

Best info from dealer so far as already stated price of £1996.17 inc.
2.5 hours fitting.
Dealer fit.
Still no power figures or details of contents but imagine same as MY01 PPP.

simon

Dave T-S 19 July 2002 01:52 PM

Simon
I do know the content of the kit, but unfortunately I do not think that is in the public domain yet either. I take it you didn't mean the power/torque figs are the same as the MY01 PPP  ;) :D

Jza
Relax......:D - and it's a font not a fountain;):D

[Edited by Dave T-S - 7/19/2002 1:54:20 PM]

Iain Young 19 July 2002 02:02 PM

I know you can't tells us the contents of the kit Dave, but can you give us a hint as to whether you think you get value for your money etc :D (or is it just an expensive mod to keep your warranty)

Cheers,
Iain.

Dave T-S 19 July 2002 02:13 PM

Iain
Wouldn't dream of giving my opinion of value for money - with six modded Imprezas between Mrs T-S and I in 20 months, clearly I have no money and even less sense;)

Iain Young 19 July 2002 02:22 PM

:D

Tang 19 July 2002 02:53 PM

Dave T-S,

Thanks for all the info. How much leeway is there in the price? Just called Cheam Motors and they said 1995 plus fitting bringing the price to 2150 approx. They don't know the details yet.

Chief for me will be whether the mod brings the power and torque lower down the rev range like the PPP did on my MY00, although it would be nice to get 300 bhp/lb/ft...

Is there any talk of a DEP?

Sorry, last but not least do you knonw what the new Prodrive 7 spoke 18" wheels are described as (i.e.stock no.) as Cheam don't seem to know that the wheels actually exist.

Cheers, here's hoping to send you all my hard earned moolah.

mccltd 19 July 2002 02:56 PM

JUST HAD THIS RETURN FROM MY DEALER:

The three answers that we wanted are
1) £1698.87 +VAT including fitting
2) Exhaust, ECU & Intercooler pipes
3)300BHP

Was hoping a bit more BHP for that money.
Will it make much difference?

Tang 19 July 2002 03:19 PM

mccltd,

If they do it like the original PPP on the classic shape then yes, in the real world on a road the power and torque come in a lot quicker in the rev range which makes my current MY00 much easier to drive (and curiously from experience more economical to the tune of a quarter tank every fill up).

If the STi ppp is the same it should sort out the "lag" (for want of a better description - I know how controversial that term has been on this BBS) below 4000rpm.

Cheers

Tang

Dave T-S 19 July 2002 03:59 PM

mccltd
BHP is for rolling road freaks needing a penis extension;););)

Reserve judgement until you see the torque, and where it is produced;);) :D:D - most important thing will be, of course, how it drives on the road:)

mccltd 19 July 2002 04:07 PM

Thanks for the replies.

When they say they change the exhaust, will that be the whole sytem from front to back?

Also why is the Air intake not changed, I thought people do that aswell to produce more power!

Will it still sound good, as I like my Scoobysport.
