Cheers PG. Yeah, dedicated cinema room. The gadget I find most useful is the rather inexpensive (sub £500) Sony CX860 DVD changer, which holds 301 discs (DVD + Audio CD). It certainly helps catalogue them, and keep them in order (and unscratched !).

I've not seen the B+O plasma, though I expect it's going to work out farkin expensive, and I'm not sure I'd be able to tell how much better it is.

I take it you never use the system for stereo having the speakers that wide.
Do the M74's not suffer from a boomy bass being placed in the corners. My Mission 734i's need to be at least 24" from a corner and 18" from the back wall or the bass gets well overblown from the rear facing bass port.

I'm not an audiophile (fortunately) so I don't get too involved with the details of the sound system.

The M74s are about a foot away from the back wall, and 18" from the sidewalls, and are angled to minimise too much resonance between wall + speaker.

The M7ds bipole surrounds on the back wall help create a nice soundstage for movies.

I'll have to have a listen to the M74's next time I'm down the hifi shop. I'm a total Mission fan myself, my system is the third Mission HC setup I have owned (734i fronts, 70c2 centre and 701 rears).

My Mother has my second setup which is all Mission 73 series tackle (733 fronts 73 centre and 731 rears) and I recently did an install at a friends house using all Mission 700 series speakers. (703 fronts, 70C2 centre and 702e rears)

The next step, for me, is to get 6.1 in and some M7ds or M70ds if I can sill source them.

I also have a bedroom converted to a listening room with a pair of Mission 781's on duty, they are so sweet (Wife not too happy as there is only one recling chair in the "Sweet" spot of the room ).
I just wish I could afford to kit out the HC with the 78 range. 783's with a 78c and 78ds's, yes please

Could have fooled me, your F355 with straight through exhausts being driven hardish a few metres in front of me round Donnington was the nicest sound I've ever heard.

A bit of a tip, if you go for wood floors make sure you have plenty of soft furnishings in the room, or the sonic reflections caused by the floor will destroy the sound. Heavy curtains, rugs on the floor or walls will also help.

Is that the 43" Widescreen Hitachi? Nearly bought one myself but got offered a very good deal on the 46" Toshiba from HiSpek.
Wanted the 56" Tosh or the 55" Hitachi but I couldn't get either in the room unless I took the window out .

I looked out the instructions and indeed it is. It was between that and the B&O Avant 28". 28 or 43 you do the math !! plus I can go DD without spending 000's on speakers! (do have B&O MX7000 and V7000 on motorised stand for the bedroom )
Must admit I got a cracking deal on it 'buy in' price minus VAT

I know what you mean, heaven, my wife will not let me have them in the lounge.

I have had plans drawn up to do a loft conversion for a dedicted HC room, would take the sound system up but leave the TV downstairs leaving me a nice excuse to buy a front projection system for the loft conversion.

Total cost including buying a 5k projector would be around £10k for me as I would do a lot of the work myself. May add a little more in for a couple of La-z-boys. Just need to convince Lorraine its worth sticking £10k on the Mortgage. Would also mean loosing a bedroom which doesn't bother us but may devalue the house.
