I bought a terraced house several years ago, to get on the ladder and let it at cost to my sister's friend while I saved the money to do it up (it was a hovel, and the friend has no standards). When she finally bought a place of her own and moved out, I had to lift up all the carpets and the upstairs floors to ged rid of the ingrained fur and stench from her two short haired dogs. I don't think she hoovered once in the two and a half years she was in it!
Fortunately I bought it to gut it anyway or I would have been seriously p155ed off!

P.S. There is no way Pete is only 72
