Mellow - The white Evo isn't Tonys, amd you'll meet him Saturday night! He's the quiet sort that just gets on with it, trust me

TF said- "I'll tell you what though - I bet I can get most sideways for longest."
It's bloody obvious now - Simon de Banke, who else

Much as I hate to inflate Mellow's ego, I am going to like seeing the look on you face as he laps you

LOL!
I havnt laughed this much in ages
TF, id make sure that your AA membership is upto date M8 i would go just to see you on the track but Michael Schumacher and co may be on the track longer and be more reliable to go round corners
Oh, id also have your car serviced before you go on the track, you need a thicker oil than the running in oil thats already in your car, it may break running it too long with that in...
Have fun

Tony (also a blue scoob owner )

great thread LMFAO

If you cant beat them...............

With so much sideways stuff going on I think I'll leave my scooby at home, and another thing I wouldn't be able to find it as it's blue like all the rest of you and I might go out in someone elses car in mistake
I think I'll take my 2nd car instead
TF I should think that I can keep up with you in this as it has two scooby engines hidden in the back but I'm sorry to tell you that there's no room for you as a passenger as I've a nitrous bottle by the side of me

I've sold the road tyres and have just got these new 24" wheels that are 10" wide and hold the road better than anything I've driven but I havn't got round to putting them on yet but you'll see them on sunday

Hello again Jon1T, silver is a great colour, there will only be a couple there I think, I'll easily find you. We'll be lapping evryone in sight.

Hello Tony Burns, you ceratainly know your stuff mate, I will be getting my oil changed on Saturday afternoon for some Shell Helix. Good enough for Schuey, good enough for me. He uses optimax as well, so I'll fill up with that before I leave.

Scoobywagon, if your girlfriend wants to go out on track, she can come out for the ride of her life with me. It may be in the afternoon, as a few poeple want me to help them out in the morning, and many others have asked for a ride. How does £5 sound (front seat). Why has insurance stopped you going on the race track, surely you can't crash on a wide open road with everyone going in the same direction, I'll help you out 9n the morning if you want.

See you there
TF

The Fastest
I look forward to meeting you - I will be on track, but don't think my car will be as fast as yours as its one of the old models (MY00).It is a blue one so may be faster than most though I think you may be surprised at some of the cars that will be there, it may not be as easy to overtake everyone as you think
Remember, it a day where we can all have fun.
(so please let us know when you'll be on track )

Hello topdog, I used to have an Astra, not a van though, 16v 2dr, magnex and pipercross. I thought that was fast until I bought my WRX last week. Take it from me mate, sell the Astra and buy a WRX - they're ace.

Hello Blue, good choice of name as you have a blue car. To be honest, I don't really think the colour makes it faster (Jon1T was being silly I think) I will flash as I pass you on the race track(at this rate I'll wear out my headlight bulbs). After seeing the speed I pass you, you may want to trade your old car in and buy a WRX, its got air con, elec windows, power steering, 17 inch alloys. I'll take you out if you want.

I think Sunday will be ace - see you there.

I think I'm going to have to cancel Sunday now. My ribs ache like buggery
Let alone the concern of being flashed as he flies past me!

The fastest-your car's mega quick but my concern is that you haven't given much concern to brakes and tyre pressures.
Perhaps try filling the tyres with helium, that's sure to make you fly. As for the brakes, have you thought about a parachute for the back straight before the chicane?

Lee P, is that your car you are describing? Lots of power, but my new WRX has 4 wheel drive so will be much faster. What car is it/ What colour is it?

Lordlucan, you truly have a great imagination. I don't think even I will require a parachute with the new 4 piston brakes on my new WRX, they stop you in unreal time. I'll take you out and show you if you want.
I read that a company called Tyres Northampton are going, do they take helium canisters for the tyres? How much is it? Is it worthwhile?

ian_sadler that little car is ace. How do you do that?

I got the rear section of my exhaust replaced today. The car sounds ace and goes EVEN FASTER. I can't wait to get it on the race track. Lee P's 380bhp won't stand a chance. Does anyboby want to buy a brand new WRX rear section of exhaust? My new one cost £385, I'll sell the WRX one for £225.

TF,

Out of interest, now you've sorted the exhaust, what are you doing about brakes, and tyres for Sunday? How long are you expecting to stay out?

got your insurance all sorted? You wouldn't want to knacker the nice new car would you. Someone rolled their P1 at a track day last summer.

Brakes and tyres are all brand new so there's no problem there. I will be there about 9 ish, and providing there's refreshments, will come in around 11 for a bite, then its back out until the new people have a try at lunchtime. The morning may be taken up instructing others as a few have asked that little favour of me, then in the afternoon it looks like I'll be inundated with people wanting rides in my new WRX.
Your car should already be insured if you drive on the road - its illegal if not so bloody sort it!!

Myself and Darin Frow will be there on the Sun 7th @ Donnington to take bookings from SIDC for Rally Supercar Day paddock parking and exclusive scooby track sessions. Prices are £8 and £20 respectively - kids go free.

To find us look out for the ex-works Mitsubishi Lancer Rally car and black Evo6 with lamp pod next to a red tent.

With even more happening at this years Rally Supercar Day including a guest appearance by Alistair McRae, we are keen to have another good SIDC display this year.

TF,

I really hope your a wind up merchant. Brand new tyres and brakes will be knackered within 30 mins, if you think your staying out for 2 hours in one session think again.

Road insurance will NOT usually cover you for track, please check.

Hello Croydon, is that where you live, I live in London too. If I see you some time I'll flash. This will be my first time on the race track, but have watched it loads (some of it live!!). That certainly won't be a handicap to me, there are many others going who have been asking questions and wanting to learn from me. Its a bit like have a degree I think. As long as you understand the theory, when it comes to doing it for real you've already cracked it.

Gregh, the brakes on my Astra lasted a year, 1 day will be no problem. The tyres will grip like mad as they have lots of tread on them (they're new remember).I will look into the insurance but don't envisage there will be a problem.

Lee P, my favourite colour is rally car blue (thats why I bought that colour)Whats your car if it isn't japanese. Its not one of those high powered ameican things is it (barge for short) if so, don't be getting over excited with it as it won't corner anywhere near as fast as my WRX.

I really am going to wear out my headlights aren't I.

TF

PS Rallyday - you bringing Alistair McRae - do you think he'll want a ride in my new WRX as well ?

>>the brakes on my Astra lasted a year, 1 day will be no problem.

How many times did your Astra go out on a track well known for heavy braking?

>>The tyres will grip like mad as they have lots of tread on them

They may grip, but they will overheat and go off very quickly as with new tyres the blocks move around more, you may find you knacker them up very quickly, depending on the weather. If wet you will be fine?

I've just been into my local motor sport shop and bought some really bright PIAA headlight bulbs - they'll last the day and you'll easy see me coming now. Rather than be flashing everyone all day as I pass, I will leave my headlights on all the time in case I catch you up too quick and don't get chance to flash.

Well, I'm coming to watch. I want to see just how fast The Fastest is. Might take my 1.4 16v Skoda out, just so you can say you overtook someone!

If there are any spare places I could be tempted to go out, assuming I can pay on the day. Don't want to take a place from a Scoob driver who might be late at booking though. As a driver I want it to be wet, as a spectator I want it to be dry. Thats not asking too much is it?
