there is no way this car needs anymore power for what I use it for and the roads I drive on BUT as its likely my last performance car because of the way the world's heading my heart is telling me to go get that tune/pulley and have the magical 600bhp........
Only time will tell I guess

Well I have warranty on it until mid December so if it proves to be a reliable car and I'm still in a good financial position at the end of the year I shall continue the ownership, whether I get it tuned or stay standard and keep the warranty going is 50/50 at the minute.

based on it being a 2014 plate xfr , it’s 500 bhp 5 litre v8 supercharged, i hope the exhaust was modified 😂 , 0 to 60 is about 4.3 seconds , it shows a 0 to 100 kph as 4.5 seconds , so no slouch , but in a rear drive it’s performance is quite weather dependant as per mine , so if it’s slippery the scooby comes into it’s element , i tend to use mine on dry days only as you have to be a lot more careful with the power in the wet , my engine is a basic engine 6.2 v8 , 500 bhp 500 foot pound , has been put in a scooby before but becomes rwd only ☹️, plus it’s a rare car so i don’t want a rusty rare car , as it’s gets to live in a garage unlike the scooby , i need more garages 👍😁

for its size/RWD/power it actually hooks up really well, they come with Dunlops as standard which are shocking, mine has michelin pilot sport 4's 😉
book time 0-60 is around 4 5 seconds but with these tyres I would say its closer to 4.2 maybe 4.0. The power delivery is instant and pulls straight from 1k rpm.
In the wet its a different story but still grips well and certainly isn't a death trap if driven with some care.

i found a good exhaust place near me 500£ later they changed the back boxes and deleted some silencers , it’s bi modal so i can be noisy or quiet , but it’s a must a better exhaust for a v8 , you have good tyres on yours only downside is quite ££ , it’s amusing some people still fit crap tyres on a nice car with lots of power

So been a while since i updated this, not much to report really
Had my 1st issue which was a flickering rear light (the part on the tailgate near numberplate) booked it in with local jlr specialist who have had the work approved through the jag warranty, just waiting for it to come in now.
been over to a detailers the other night and booked in for the following....
- 2 stage machine polish
- primer polish with ceramic pro nano
- 1 layer of ceramic pro 9H 4 year coating
- 1 layer of ceramic pro light as a top coat
- all glass coated in ceramic pro rain nano coating
- wheels off and deep cleaned then coated in 2 layers of ceramic pro wheel coating front and back
- calipers cleaned and jaguar decals added then coated in ceramic pro caliper coating
- engine bay cleaned and dressed
- full interior deep clean along with full leather treatment
now the jeep has gone and this is my daily the paint work is getting ruined @ work with the dust, bird **** also seems to mark it heavily so need this ceramic coating to help protect it.
also going in for a gearbox service and rear diff service within the next month or 2.
still blown away by how good this car is, i love the jekyll and hyde character of it. if funds allow then spires rear boxes will be going on aswell pretty soon.
the guy im using for the detailing has his own youtube channel and is a really down to earth guy, he has a lot to do with matt armstrong from youtube and seeing as i pass his unit everyday i thought i would pass him some business.
check out some of his video's

My nieces grandmother had one of these.
well into her 70’s, she fell and broke her arm while out shopping.
I got a call to go and collect the car, take it back to her house. They do sound fantastic, and go pretty well too. Certainly left the mrs behind in our Impreza. For a big saloon they seem to feel quite small when driving them. I’d like one but refuse to buy anything that means the government will relieve me of £600 or more just to tax it.

Just collected my xfr from slix car care, had a 2 stage machine polish with ceramic coating, paint work is like glass now and super shiny.
He is good mates with matt Armstrong from YouTube, I was asked to postpone the booking for a week so they could squeeze a trio to the nurburgring. Matt chucked in a few freebies as a way of saying thanks.

My brothers Range Rover sport with the same engine is just in have its timing chain replaced at a specialist as it stretched but didn’t cause any damage luckily, £4.5k job to do though.

Jaguar oil service schedule is every 15k which is bonkers even for a non-performance engine.
the oil in mine has been changed around 6 or 7 times in its life and has just tucked past 57k. I will be getting the oil changed every 12 months regardless of mileage covered (only average around 4k per year).
I'm more concerned about the washer fluid pump leaking as it runs down a pipe into the drivers footwell and fries the ecu........£3k + if that happens.
need to get mine checked out to see if it has the revised part (£70 part if not) and get it changed.
All in all thogh it feels a solid car, I was worried about having a jag but to be fair it feels well screwed together and 800 miles around Cornwall didn't upset it.
still debating on what to do in December when the warranty runs out........
Option 1 is to renew it @ £110 per month and not be able to tune it
Option 2 is to have no warranty and stage 1 tune it to 600bhp 😀
Option 3 is to renew the warranty and tune it to 600 bhp, the warranty wouldn't cover the engine/gearbox but should cover all the other bits which could easily add up to big bills if something went wrong.
Rear dIff's have been known to go but they are around £2k so not the end of the world.
gearbox failures are pretty much unheard of unless really mis-treated.
Engine failures are not common unless its early models with timing issues. Plenty of people tune these to 650bhp and 850nm with no issues.
Superchargers can have snout issues but again its only about £1500 for a full rebuild IF it needs doing (labour intensive job)
