I generally get 10 to the gallon when i'm on a mission.
I agree **** that little **** Greta.
Speeds.
thanks buddy, we will deffo re-visit scotland again in the summer time to test out the roads. ive been running around in the jag this week and im still blown away by how good it is, it is effotless to drive and around town im getting 21-23 mpg which is great for a near 2 tonne v8. the roads were dry today so i took it out and put it in dynamic mode with the paddles, took a bit of getting used to as ive never had paddle shift before but my god its quick in dynamic mode, the instant pull from the supercharged lump is breath taking albeit it a little sketchy on the rear
****ing love it though, forgot how much fun driving can be in the right car.

So some little scrotey-**** kid has ran his finger the full length of the car and scratched the rear arch/bumper when it was parked outside my folks house on new years day so I've been out all morning cleaning it and to be fair can hardly see it now.
using auto finesse products as I find them not too badly priced and always give good results.
-rinse
-snowfoam
-iron out on the wheels
-citrus de-grease the lower half of the car all round
-2nd snowfoam
-wheel cleaner applied, god damn these Nevis wheels are hard to clean,I couldn't get any of my wheel brushes between the spokes so I've ordered some smaller ones for next time.
-washed using the 2 bucket with grit guard method and a fresh lambs wool mit.
-dried using 3 new super thick ultra soft premium microfibre towels from auto finesse, just drapped on and dragged off slowly until dry
-paintwork treated with 2 layers of quick detailer which I often use and lasts a good 5-6 weeks.
Couple of areas need further attention worst being the lower half of the front arches down by the wheels, lots of road rash peppered on,not sure if it will machine polish out or not so will get that seen to at a later date,if it comes to it I will get them painted and PPF'd.
I know black is a ******* to keep clean and shows up lots of marks but damn it looks good once it's cleaned up.

Can barely see the scratch now, camera wouldn't even pick it up so i would say it will deffo polish out which is good news.

it was obviously a toddler as it was about 18" high all the way along in a wavey line, little *******.....
the car would benefit from a full machine polish so will get that sorted ready for summer along with a ceramic coating.

Completely get what she is saying but the blame is on the politicians (was going to say corrupt but lets be honest to find one that isn't is rare), large corporations and lets just call it the top 1%.

Nice car mate. But word of warning don't ask Dave about wax or polish you won't have any paint left

So my new gorilla wheel nuts turned up today from the good old USA and I wanted them swapped over a.s.a.p. the standard jag ones are crap and prone to breaking so some heavy duty ones were needed.
I also wanted to take a trip down to reid speed which is my local land rover specialist to meet them and discuss if they will look after my car and if they do warranty work.

Happy days as the guy who was there was very helpful, was a bit of a petrol head so we were talking about my impreza and his series 2 RS turbo, I then mentioned about swapping the wheel nuts over and he offered to do it there and then for a tenner, never before have i ripped a tenner out of my pocket so fast.
I was really worried about the nuts not budging but to be fair they all came out without fuss.they were really really rusty though, I see now how ****e they are.
Hoping the black doesn't scratch off everytime they get taken off and put back on. Great news is that they can take care of any warranty work and do anything that my car needs, best of all they are about 1 mile from my house.
Glad I nipped out now

Lovely car Shrek! I have to admit, I've been considering a big V8 (or maybe V10 ) at some point. Biggest engine to date was an E36 M3 with the 3.2 straight six.
The kids (and the wife!) keep going on about the Mustang (the proper one not the ****ty eco boost jobbie ) but I fancy an E60 M5 myself, it's just the running costs that put me off.

That last picture is playing havoc with my OCD. The writing on the wheel is up the correct way but the centre cap is rotated!

thanks buddy yeah it a fantastic car, glad i took the plunge to buy it. v8 power is totally different and is great for fast road use and its got so much low down grunt.
i never noticed that wheel centre,i shall have to rectify it
just get what you want mate whilst you still can, the future is set to be a very boring one.
no regrets buddy.........

Sound advice! I've had a good run of it in recent years but with yet another mouth to feed arriving later this year, I feel the days of having 2 occasional cars is numbered!
I don't feel ready to let the RA go yet, even if the prices have gone silly. I wonder what kind of impact this push for electric will have on these kinds of cars in the future though. Will it drive prices up because they become collectable or will they drop because no-one wants them? There's definitely been a surge in prices over the past couple of years so is that due to people wanting a last hurrah or will they continue to rise? If there is a sweet spot to buy, it may be in a few years time when people have had their fun and are moving over to electric, so that may be my last opportunity

I don't think it's a case of people not wanting them I think it's a case of actually trying to run one in the future, not many stations will sell petrol, 99 Ron fuel will be obsolete, shell have only guaranteed v-power for another 4 or 5 years. Tax will keep climbing,I've only had my jag 4 weeks and in that time I've been told it goes from 600 per year up to 630.
the more the eco-clowns buy into this gumff that electrical cars are the saviour the harder it is for us realists.
I am gonna keep burning petrol until they drag me to the kerb for a good stomping.
as I've said before.....electricity is for hair-dryers and food blenders NOT cars.

So had the back end step out on me couple of nights ago,was late coming home from my sisters 40th and was stressing about getting bed on time so was giving the jag a boot full of right foot, took a right hand turn which was on an incline and went straight into a left hand bend......little bit too much throttle coming out of the right-hander and she snapped out quite violently.

Mrs smacked her head off the passenger window 😆
its definitely made me aware of just how quick a RWD car can bite you.

Also spoke with swallows jaguar racing today, quoted me on a rear diff oil change and a gearbox service. They also explained their stage 1/2/3 package if I want to tune it,stage 3 giving 640bhp and upwards of 900nm torque but that's much to much for the car in my opinion.

Very tempted with their stage 2 600bhp 800nm torque package with custom built sports cats, deresonated center x-pipe, 6% reduced supercharger pulley and custom map.
this is likely my last performance car due to the way things are heading so I think it's time for 1 last hoorah!!!

I wrote off my 1st a reg I think bmw 320,fishtail off a roundabout hit parked cars one side then ended up in someone's garden on the other side.
also did a full 180 spin in a 525 estate coming off a roundabout again, ended up facing wrong way on opposite side of road.
Not sure if the newer bms are any better but all 3 I've had were very tail happy.

I'm tempted to try and find a drift course or something like that to learn how to control it when it happens instead of laying an egg 😆

if it helps , power wise on the vxr8 is around the 575 to 600 bhp , too much makes it much harder to drive especially in the wet , and as it’s harder to drive you end up by having to go slower to compensate , one chaps running 1200 bhp , others are 700 800 900 bhp is not unusual , but again interesting in the dry , a bit cheek clenching on a damp or greasy road , as with mine a v8 rwd will find every slippery section of road it can , a lot of those with higher power figures it’s dry days and not the winter months so they end up getting sorn in the winter months not practicable for a daily drive , adding to that more stress on parts due to more power 😂😂

So I've had a service message light come up on the dash saying next service due in 1200 miles which is strange as the dealer serviced it before I collected it, I have all the documentation to say so.
I rang them and they said that sometimes the laptop or whatever they use doesn't always reset it and they asked me to pop back in to get it done.......pop back to ****ing Glasgow lol
so they are paying the nearest dealership to me to get it done, booked in for March time.
slightly annoying but nevermind might take a test drive of a f-pace svr whilst I'm there

other than that I'm just enjoying the car and still averaging 22mpg which I think is fantastic.
it eats its battery though on short runs so I'm hooking it up the the ctek every other weekend to keep it topped up.

oh and for those that thought getting an accurate reading on an impreza dipstick was challenging you should try the electronic oil level reading device this thing has.......so far I've been told it's OK.....then it tells me to add 0.5L of oil then its said it half way. Its really really sensitive to the slightest incine/decline.
stupid idea.......
