we have been supplying the (previously exclusive) std Speedline ET22 wheel and this is a direct fitment that required NO machining and is far more cost effective than the original post

std Speedline factory fitments are ET11.3 & ET22 (deep dish) or the more std fit ET48

Thanks.
Would you have picture of wheels with ET22 ? just to compare with the GLM. I like the center bowl of their wheels.

both of the ET11.3 and the ET22 are very similiar "deep dish" as opposed to the ET48 which by necessity is a flatter design

GLM are simply taking an ET11.3 and machining the rear flange away (which most don't / won't recommend) to achieve their aim

Then it's a widebody on the picture ? (not sure). Mine is standard and I have some difficulties to imagine how could it fit under the wing.
If I don't mistaken, I have actually 7.5x17 ET48, so :
=> 8x18 ET22 mean the outer rim will poke 32.4mm away
=> 8x18 ET32 (GLM) the outer rim will poke 22.4mm away

In each cases that's a lot compared to my actual set up.

IMO they don't fit correctly on anything without arches (either WRC or 22b style).........
we do have customers running them on std style cars BUT more for the look and with alignment at the more extreme end of road use

I'm surprised that the OP hasn't been back to show how well his fitted, after he was so adamant.

So, in summary, as long as the car is driven slowly, in a straight-line, on a flat surface, then it looks good.

Absolute bull**** that those wheels fit on a classic GC8. Here are the exact same said wheel on a test fit on a widearch before fitting tyres etc. Also a pic of the car just for reference.

nice car bro,

although these are the GLM Motorsport Speedline wheel . ET 32 adjusted from an ET11.6 . It’s not bull.

I have 3 sets for my GC’s with hundreds sold across the world. Check out www.glmmotorsport.com .

Enough said roads must be perfectly flat with no corners. Standard suspension will not work and if you did hit a bump the centre is liable to shear off cause there is 21 mm milled off the face of the wheel.
Come on now have a bit of sense.

haha, I’m beginning to like you. Correct, by GLM specs you need coil overs to run these wheels or an alternative suspension that will work.

the wheels have little to do with corners or bumps certainly in reference to this, that’s all about suspension pressure, height and tyre choice.

the milled face has more meat left on it that the ET 48 version of this wheel. I asked GLM about this and I confirmed it myself when I measured both wheels. No more sheering going to happen than any other wheel bud 😂

I like your spirit though. Personally I think they are great and best replica of the original magnesium version on the market which is why I have 3 sets

IF THEY FIT Do not think they would be of any use other than photographs. Not practical at all.

There is no question they fit mate, they are fitted all over the world 😂

As for being just for photographs, 😂 they are even used for gravel rally by some people on Instagram . 😂 and tarmac stage used by myself.

I think it’s a bit late to try and discredit the product . They are clearly already firmly established in the market. nice try though bud 👍🏼

happy new year

Still don't believe these an be fitted in a practical application and be of any advantage. It is easy to say they fit under extreme circumstances. But are they of any use apart from show.
Anyone else running these would love to hear their opinions.

haha Jesus mate let it go.

They work just fine, show , track and road use.

I tell you what, I’ve got a few sets and some spare coil overs. Why don’t I lend you the kit and you can test it your self and let us all know your findings 😉

On a narrow-bodied road car, they are for show.
Why else would you transform a car into a mobile chicane? You've allowed the wheel specs to dictate your selection of: spring rates, ride height and negative camber?

Any pics of your tarmac car?

Why would I let go I have plenty of cars here and also a full set of those rims that I would not fit on a customers car. The reason being the lack of material on centre flange of the wheel. I have taken a screenshot of your YouTube video to show the reason they weren't fitted and also the reason that in the video that they have had to use go through wheel nuts. The reason being when you try to fit the wheel on the hub with the standard wheel nuts is that they bottom out on the standard stud because there is that much material milled off the centre of the wheel to get them to partially fit albeit poorly cause you have to alter the vehicle to make them fit. Now I take it you are not the individual in the video cause he's American and imho 90% of the time they talk rubbish anyway. Iirc your in Newcastle so I'll tell you what I'm going to do, I'm going to measure the depth of the material in the flange tomorrow and ring an associate of mine who is well up in VOSA and ask him what his outlook is on the subject. If he considers them to be unsafe I will let him take one away and get it tested. We will then be sure that everybody is safe and above board. There appears to be a minimal amount of material left on the flange in my opinion.

Personally I run to the spec GLM advised for fast road . On good tyres it’s epic !!

ah ok . So you have a set of GLM Motorsport wheels ?

ok cool measure up and let us know . Also measure the flange thickness of the ETA 48 and see how it compares. Although Ive done this already and the GLM Motorsport wheel is thicker and stronger. Hence why I was comfortable buying them

btw GLM supply open ended wheel nuts as the stock don’t fit due to the flange being different on the nut… they are open ended as this matches the GrpA set up. Looks great .

if you care so much why don’t you contact GLM and ask them to send you all the data and the safety standards they are already tested and approved too . I’m sure they will help you out as have been very good with me. Although I have spent 6k with them so that probably helps 😂

anyway I’ve got a new year eve party to go to because I have friends.

Not even going to entertain you. You have contradicted yourself from the start of this thread to the end. If you read the first line of my last post it says. (Why would I let go I have plenty of cars here and also a full set of those rims that I would not fit on a customers car.) Then in the next breath you say. (ah ok . So you have a set of GLM Motorsport wheels ?) Well obviously !!! The wheels imo are not fit for purpose due the the unacceptable amount of material on the face of the flange. Not just myself but you are trying to convince others on this thread that would possibly be better qualified than myself that these wheels are a safe alternative. If this wheel survives the test there's another set here that you can purchase if you wish at a very reasonable price. This is what wheels are supposed to look like on a WRC width shell. I see your location is actually London which would explain your naivety. Good luck.

im starting to see what’s going on here . You sell wheels to customers . Maybe that’s why you are trying to say bad things about the GLM wheel as they took business away from you . It all makes sense.

You don’t have a set of GLM wheels 😂😂 anyone can see that by reading your tread, how stupid do you think we all are 😂 Ok so what number GLM wheel set do you have ? As they are all numbered . Choose wisely as the number locations are available online. Pick the wrong one and everyone else will also see your a massive fraud !!!
We are still waiting on your dimensions and vosa report for wheels you Dont have 😂😂😂

are you trying to say un educated people live in London ?

GLM Motorsport wheels clearly DOMINATE!! the market for this type of wheel. As much as you might try to spread false negative information to benefit your own little garage, there is nothing! You can do about it.

I started this thread and am requesting to you and admin that you do not continue to ruin it for other scoobynet members by spreading false information.

This post was started to share good information for others who might also be interested and benefit.

do not continue to replay

Well to make correct et they could do it with thicker flange,if flange and meat left around holes is still thicker with et22 than with oem et48 i do not see an issue to fit it in a road car. For track car i would use new forged wheels as above ones are flow formed, not worth a risk in my opinion.

Dont forgot the original was magnesium and seemed to take a beating from Colin 😂 for ultimate track use a forged option would be nice. Although I see a carbon fibre with forged center option is in the pipe line according to their Insta. I imagine deep pockets would be needed .

GLM has new spec on the Speedline wheels?
18x8 +32?
That size is very doable with stock body but it will require fenders rolled and pulled. According to offset calculators the poke just shy of 9" +42 wheels and they are widely regarded as the widest wheels that fit stock body. Now this brings up a new question, how much brake caliper clearance was given up to make these fit and will big calipers like OEM Brembos require spacers now?

nice to get back to some healthy debate 👍🏼

I think they do a bunch of available ET ‘s, would make sense considering they are machined.

I’ve had brembos under no issue. Photo of this beauty is on their insta, looks like he has gen 1 AP ‘s. I’m putting a set of gen 2 AP’s under soon so assuming they fit too.

@86B I also saw that today.

Before, they had on their site, that their modified wheels were ET22. Now, they're ET32. I have been following this thread for a long while, as I am thinking of fitting similar on my Ver2 STI. Still uncertain.

I run Speedline ST2. 17" BY 7", ET48. I run a 1" Spacer (25MM) all round, to get some bit of poke/flush fitment - which makes my offset ET23 currently (I think) - however, I have 0.7MM poke (they stick out of the front fenders, by 0.7MM. Rear is flush)

I measured today, and by using a wheel calculator, I expect a 14MM poke on GLM's ET22 wheel. Total poke is about 22MM.On their ET32, it would come to only 4MM poke on top of my current wheels which poke 0.7MM.

I do not know if my maths is correct. Enough maths.

I measured today on my rally car, and on OEM camber, this the poke. I do not know how much camber would be needed to compensate for this poke? Hard to say! Again, many guys have fit them successfully. on narrow body.

ha yes I went through the same maths process many times . So I was recommended 2 degrees negative all round. I set mine up just under that about 1.8. If your budget is tight and you care about Tyre wear then it’s not ideal, but handling is great. I Dont get any poke on my ET32, wheels actually sit just inside the body line. I think the ET22 option would poke a bit as you suggested
