After speaking to a few of me mates at work who've got a date at are local venue it seems that those like me who received a letter off the NHS don't get chance of the nearest venue, those get saved for those who get contacted by txt or phone call off their GP, or so it seems.

I think that's the way it is. As far as I know the system appears to give you slots based on availability on a day by day basis. So try one day, nothing, try again you may get a slot.

Obviously it's a lottery based on where you live, what GP you are registered to, your age and ailments.

I know people younger than me with no health issue that have had the jab (She's 30). People older than me also had the jab. But when I try...nope.

Apparently it's down to uptake; if people don't confirm appointments, slots become free so I've been told just to keep trying: https://www.nhs.uk/book-a-coronaviru...-an-nhs-number

I went back to work in the afternoon after the AZ jab, was fine until evening, got uncontrollable shivers, severe aching, especially where I broke my back and shoulder, bad cramps. Woke up with a whopping headache. Lesson learnt was to take a paracetamol at the start, not the next day. Still sore 3 days later.
edit; ah, but no reaction from flu jab, despite it being an American unlicensed version
