Why did he not use a specialist like Engine Tuner from the start.

Not had much dealings with 1st Start as they out of my area but they are aggressively promoted on the FB ESC group.

This is always the worry when using a generic garage who will charge you same as Scooby Clinic or Engine Tuner but don't have the knowledge or experience.

Is he banned from the ESC yet for calling out 1st Start.
I think he trusted that he'd be looked after if anything went wrong with the build and as you mentioned, 1st start is heavily promoted. He was friends with Mark and is also a very loyal and trusting guy who takes people at their word. Mark very publicly said he would look after him when it went pop and then handed him a nice bill for assessing the damage a week later. It was at that point that he decided enough was enough and went elsewhere. Time will tell if he'll be welcome at the meets but I'm in regular contact with him and I'm not sure he'll want to go to any anyway...

So do they know the outcome yet?

Results came back from RCM that one of the injectors was faulty so that could be the culprit.

So not the fault of the build then?

That said, I would expect the injectors to be checked/cleaned before installation.

Sooner Clinic than old Dynamo himself.

Any mapper that takes part in the Essex Scooby Crew 'mapping days' should be embarrassed and feel nothing but shame, that goes for Duncan and SSR. Giving the industry a terrible reputation.

It’s not really my place to say.
You’re probably better off going direct to Graham and hearing thingS from the horses mouth tbh.

i think you would have to have gone through the rigours of an engine build before,,to think of checking injector flows,,if it was bore washing it may have not been sealing or failed open, silly not to check if theyve been sitting around awhile or were 2nd hand- all checks to find in the first 10 minutes of running really ,,again all comes down to experience and expertise,,it even happens to the top builders too though dont forget
