Took the car to Santa Pod again two weeks ago, but the best I could manage was only a 12.6. The car has more in it, but launching it with the lightweight flywheel is more challenging. I really need to invest in launch control!
in other news, I have always preferred the 2018 facelift bumper used on the Final Edition so decided to go down the route of upgrading. I’m not a fan of the way some do the upgrade and still keep the fog lights and indicators in the fog light bezels, so I decided to invest in a set of Diode Dynamics Switchback C Lights which replace the standard C Lights in the headlights with an LED strip that doubles up as an indicator. It works really well and looks great. Meant I could the disconnect the indicators and fog lights and use the genuine FE fog light bezels for a cleaner look. Just needs to go off to paint now.

She looks a stunner, from the build and the pics it looks a well sorted car.... I've taken a few ideas from yours to add to mine, i like the Kein things you've added.

Just before she went off the Enginetuner I took the liberty to install parallel fuel rails, lines, fpr and RCM fuel pump. I also installed a set of TGV deletes and thermal spacers, and an RCM Precision 5530 turbo and turbo inlet.
In the boot of the car I sent down a full set of Supertech valve train and BC 272 cams.

Nice mods Danjo, that's going to give you some pull, it will be interesting to see what the before and after dyno figures are essp on the torque. Whose going to be doing the mapping for you ?

Thanks mate, if I can get close to 500lbft I’ll be happy. The car ran a 12.5 quarter with basic mods on the standard VF48 so I’m looking for mid 11’s on this setup hopefully. Martyn at ET will be putting the base map on so will either be back down there or Neil at Slowboy.

Hmmmm I'm sure you were laughing when I said 1000bhp build lol. Sounds like a mental spec

Is that a stroker ej22 or destroked ej257.
Price of ej22s is mental mate but there are loads of closed decked ej257s with big power. 14mm head studs is the way on them .

14mm’s will be going in regardless of it being a 2.35 or 2.5. Do it once and do it right 👍🏻

Yep agree with you on that, never been a fan of destroking a 2.5. But each to their own. More negatives than benefits.
Seen you have quite a few bits for your heads, are you sticking with the quad avcs but built obviously. Might have missed it earlier on the thread but what about management to run it all.

Yea sticking with the quad AVCS, they will work on both the 2.5 and 2.35. I’ve not gone for oversize valves at the moment, have to draw the line on costs somewhere so just fitting the following:
nitrided inlet valves
inconel exhaust valves
double valve springs
titanium retainers
uprated valves stems and seats
272 cams
That’ll be enough to get me some extra flow without going silly on costs.
For the time being I’m sticking with Ecutek. This is phase 1 of the build, I just want to make sure the engine is in and performing as it should. Around Sumer time next year I will then be going rotated and probably Syvecs.

re-sleeving a 2.5 block to 97.5mm "correctly" with HD custom liners is in general far more cost effective that the current costs of the EJ22 blocks and also has the benefit of retaining the 8 bolt bell housing fixings which resists them flexing in extreme builds .............
totally different to simply de-stroking a 2.5 which doesn't make it any stronger than a normal 2.5 and IMO is of no benefit
or you could simply install custom HD 99.5mm liners in the 2.5 block and have the benefit of the extra capacity and security

What kind of 2.5 block they use in US 1000bhp builds than?

just to add we have done sleeved blocks at various levels / specs for quite some years and have not had a sleeve 'drop'..........
like most things in life there is no guarantee and a possibility of everything happening at least once but the way ours are machined / finished then its highly unlikely........
