Fast car
Had a Peugeot 309 1.6 Sri at 19. Wasn’t blisteringly quick, but handled like a dream. Then pretty boring cars till a 3.2 Audi A3 when I was 30. I thought that was quick until I got my Impreza.
I was young and naive .........(still am 
)...the car cost around £3 k ! , petrolheads never count the cost of ownership ...my P1 cost me well over £80k ( including mods)as it stands today .

MG Metro Turbo aged 20. Wasn't really fast.But the Turbo boost guage made me think it was. Couldn't afford the real desirables
First quickish car Octavia vRS Mark 1 2001. I have to say I really enjoyed that (now on a Mark 3). Joined Briskoda and watched one bloke get his Mark 1 up to 400hp

Talking about mistakes when we’re young, When I bought my fiesta rs turbo (first fast car) My uncle was with me who was a mechanic and advised against getting it as the engine was knackered, there was back pressure or something and low and behold the next morning when I started it up it smoked like hell for a couple minutes. But I was sold on the test drive with the acceleration and dump valve noise. My uncle might As well not have been there but It was love at first site when I got it...2000 it cost and I sold it for the same

, my brother had a mk2 escort mexico ...he sold it for £2k back in the day 
...it over £40K+ nowadays

What I find very surprising and it’s testament to yourselves is up until the age of 25 odd I went from dead end job to dead end job and couldn’t afford any sort of car because of my financial situation. I bought the rs turbo because of a claim for a crash I was in. At the age of 18 to 22ish I was a skinny pot head scraping money together for a night out, clothes and a bit of pot...the cars some of you have owned during your younger days is what I dreamed of doing lol. BUT and it’s a big but, I was way too immature and selfish to be owning high powered cars before I did so in my life I’ve owned the fast cars I’ve had at the right time if you get me

my 1st fast car was at age 19 when i had a mk 2 cavalier sri130. that got stoleen when i was 22 so i bought a cavalier gsi2000.
my 1st turbo car was a volvo t5 which i bought when i was 31.
1st subaru when i was 33
now im 40 and on my 3rd impreza,still love the car scene like i did when i was 18. people say you will grow up or grow out of it but i cant see how you grow out of something you love.

They must of realised there error then on the later cars, but finding out about recalls wasn’t as easy back years ago as it is now I didn’t even think about looking into wether the car I was buying needed to be recalled.

Off the top of my head (I've had Impreza's since 2004). The SRi 130 was an 8v with slightly more power than the usual 2L (130 vs 115). The GSi was a mk 3 cav and only had the famous 2L 16 'red top' engine (150 BHP). Most GSi's were FWD, but as noted some were 4WD, and all were saloons. The SRi was either 4 or 5 door. The GSi was actually marketed as more of a luxury car than the SRi and in the day looked very neat.
The 4WD was replaced by the Cav turbo 4x4 with the C20LET engine and 6 speed box (rare for the day) @ 204BHP, but could be tuned to much higher levels.
There were various mk 3 SRi's: 8v, 16v (with red top but only for for a short time before they replaced it with a lower power unit).

evo 8’s are great cars but you can’t go wrong with either I’ve always loved both, but if I could have my old 8 fq300 back or keep my 05 widetrack sti I would keep the sti.

My first fast-ish car was a G-reg Renault 5 turbo in 1998 when I was 18.
I didn't keep it long and had a few other hot hatches before ending up with a S1 RS turbo running close to 200hp. That was mental and would spin in every gear in the wet!
Regret selling it but sold that when I went to uni (too expensive to run, should have put it in storage!). I replaced it with a string of other hot hatches (205 GTI, Golf GTI, Caviler SRI).
My first properly fast car was in 2004 when I left uni, I bought an E36 M3 Evolution. Very, very fast car!
Had a few others before buying my first scooby in 2010, a 53 reg prodrive STi. Sold it to pay for my wedding and had a few run-arounds untill replacing it with an 04 WRX in 2012 running 290hp and kept that for 7 years.
Replaced that in Jan 19 with my current blob. This is definitely the fastest car I've owned pushing out 460hp!

I bought a new Renault 5 GT turbo in 1988. It was painted Tungsten grey. You could throw it around corners. It was like a roller skate. Unfortunately, in my first 6 months of ownership the clutch cable snapped and not long after it started jumping out of gear. The gearbox had cracked but was fixed under warranty. As my family was expanding ,I part exchanged it for a Sierra ghia 4x4 estate, another great car. Still have fond memories of the Renault though. Steve.
