Underside starting to get clean, but getting fecked off with lying in small spaces with **** dropping in my face.
Front bumper off tomorrow, then I just need the underseal wax to arrive and I can start putting everything back on. All the small paint chips have been cleaned off and zinc coated.

I did very little today, because I went bodyboarding for my daily exercise here

bummer.
Edit; Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall said it's ok if local.

Bumper beam off, rust wire brushed, degreased and wiped down with IPA, then sprayed with BH electrox and cavity sealed with S50

Then used the S50 up on chassis cavities

Wheelarch mud liners in

Heat shield and exhaust back on. Bumper on, but needs to come off again. Well pleased with exhaust trims.

Front washed and back on, bodywork decontaminated

Waiting on some plastic glue to mend the front arch liners, then on with some polishing.
I'm also removing the scoop to deal with the corrosion between the aluminium bonnet and the fasteners; but it's taking some soaking. I've treated every single rusty fastener that I've discovered, probably my favourite job infact.

Looking great hedgecutter, show and shine winner!
I really like the finish the BH dynax UB gives.
How easy are the side trims below the front wings with the STi writing to remove? I have some from a R205 waiting to be fitted.

Cheers Mr P! The side panel pops off, but you need to undo the first few side skirt fasteners. The black/silver sti strip is stuck on with double sided tape. Definitely not keen on show and shine, far too lazy.

As hedgecutter says you only need to remove the first few clips

good shot of the wing vents (one larger and one smaller hole) with the side trim is removed - the rubber trim on back of the side trim keeps that area closed off but it is designed to allow to extract under bonnet heat

The amount of work and effort gone into that is amazing. Quick question though about the fuel flap, in the pictures it looked a bit dull almost like faded paint but then when you cleaned it looked just like the rest of the car. Was it the pictures or dirt or did you put something on there to bring the colour back out.

Hard times, plus way too tight.

Thanks; it needed it. The fuel flap interior is the secondary colour, like the engine bay; I just used Surfex degreaser. However, sunrise yellow is a really absorbent colour, staining easily. It also photographs very differently depending on the light. Mine has definitely faded on the plastic sections, and when it was next to Paul's one in the earlier photos, they were quite different; too much tropical Jap sunshine, followed by the wide sky of Cornwall and no garage.

Corroded scoop clips

And treated after some careful extraction

The same clips hold the rear hatch trim; if allowed to rust they will seize and eventually break the plastic holder.

This is the last bit of trim that needs cleaning.

Seeing that, I thought JDM did not have rear wiper?

What will you do with the decal on the rear window? My Type UK on the side windows are a bit scruffy, was thinking of taking them off with a razor blade.

I hadn't thought about the sticker; it is a bit tatty. Jdm definitely had rear wiper, but deleting them is popular; the other yellow hatch in this thread had a delete, but you know how much guff gets on that rear screen.
It's blowing a gale here now, so that's put paid to the final undersealing, so I'll change the coolant instead.
I'm also going to swap out the transmission mounts and cushions for group n ones. Surprisingly it has a standard one, ending 010.

The repairs look good , can you keep us updated on the longevity of the product . I've used drifters stitch in the past .

A fine job all round.
It's amazing that the blue plastic protection for the door sill covers has never been removed.
