They seem to be doing their research.
If you continue to live in a house with no off street parking, then alternative charging options will need to be delivered

Get real! For a massive number of people in the UK, charging at home will never be an option and charging elsewhere will be expensive and inconvenient!
EVs have their place, but they are simply not an adequate solution to replacing the ICE. Hydrogen is a much more realistic solution and the emphasis should be on bringing down the cost of Hydrogen and delivering a nation wide fuel network rather than littering the streets with charging points and all the massive increase to the power grid to meet the demand of EVs.

What? So everyone should move house so they can run an EV?

You'd need a charging point every 3m for on-street parking if everyone is to have access to a charging point. Street lighting in urban areas can be up to 200yds (182m)!
In many places where people park on-street, it's often hard enough to find a free space close to where you live as it is. If you then have to find a free space with a charging point, you could be spending hours searching for a space where you can charge.
The notion that everyone can switch to an EV is simply unrealistic.
That doesn't mean that EVs aren't AN answer, but they cannot be the ONLY answer. In the same way that we have lived with different ICE fuels (95RON, 98RON, Diesel, LPG etc.), there will need to be a variety of zero emission solutions in the future and it is a mistake to focus on just EVs and over-invest in infrastructure that ultimately won't be needed.

While I was walking the dog along a pavement yesterday (past a load of cars parked on street) it got me thinking I should be patenting a cable ramp to go from people’s paths to the curb.
Cable clips in underneath, grippy textured up n down ramp with sharp metal teeth underneath for tarmac paths and a movable rudder type grip (to align with part between slabs) for slab paths.
The ‘Cramp’ (cable ramp)
Or two spiked poles, one you drive into your property border, one next to the curb in the road, both have a hospital drip type twist on top, loop your cable over both about 7ft up. Also has the added bonus of decapitating cyclists who ride on paths!
Imagine the fights when u get back and someone’s parked in front of your drip pole, or better still using it!

If you buy an EV, use it alot, the money saved in not buying fossil fuels will save you thousands. Thus reducing upfront purchase costs.
Our Nissan Leaf will have only cost us £9k for a brand new car over 5 years of use.
Whether you like the Nissan or not, buying a brand new car which costs £27,000 for 9k is not to be sniffed at.
However, if your car snobbery precludes you considering an EV, good luck in your search

Unless you can't charge at home and have to rely on public charging points which will cost you a similar amount or in some cases even more!
