Sure the pharma companies have made a lot of money. Different governments around the world reacted differently, some good some bad some terribly. The virus may have come out of nowhere or leaked from a lab in Woohan, it doesn't really matter. What I don't believe is there is some sort of global conspiracy to purposely release a disease so that pharma can make money and governments cease more power from the people. That's where the far right/left crazy comes in, taking some unrelated truths or half truths or presenting possibilities as facts, then connecting them to make out that something sinister is going on!

Yes - but in that very article linked above they state clearly the Authorities did not know at the time that Marascens could harm humans - the test was done as a 'what-if' scenario to see how large cities may be suspectible to Germ Warfare - really, at best, it was a scientific experiment that had unforseen repercussions. Even the title of that article is misleading - "In 1950 the US released a Bioweapon in San Francisco" - not really true is it.... they didn't purposely release a 'Bio-Weapon' - they performed, what they thought was an innocous experiment, in an attempt to understand and learn how it may spread in order to protect citizens from a possible airborne germ warfare attack - its all about how you state the facts as to which way you form an opinion...
